My guess is that it was Carsten Jacobsen, the then Danish editor of
"Anders And & Co." He was very fond of Carl Barks' stories and began to
reprint them in "Anders And & Co." in 1967.

As a Digest subscriber, I haven't read any answers you might already
have received. But still: I believe I have heard him say, with my own
ears, that he hadn't got one.

(Or maybe he said it with his own mouth. I might not remember all the
details.)

Thanks to all who replied. Another day, another thing learned.

In the inside cover column of Uncle Scrooge #362, John Clark writes that after the upcoming comic pairing Barks' "Land of the Pygmy Indian" with Rosa's "War of the Wendigo", there are going to be more special comic pairings of some Barks' stories with Rosa sequels.

Well, probably everyone on the mailing list knows my thoughts on re-re-reprints! :) To be fair though, I have to admit that this is a creative way to produce a special Disney comic issue and that I will buy the "Pygmy/Wendigo" comic plus others in the series. With Gemstone down to only 2 monthly comics I want to support them any way I can!

I just hope though that this does NOT mean that Gemstone is beginning to focus more and more on reprints. Can someone from Gemstone tell me if the company is just as committed to printing new-to-North-America stories in 2007 as Gemstone was in 2003? Also, I still would love to hear if anyone at Gemstone is giving serious consideration to a 3rd monthly prestige title. I know I have asked this many times in the past and that I must sound like a broken record by now, and I am sorry for that. It would just mean a lot to me though to know if this is something I can hope for and look forward to, or if this is something that is not going to happen and that I should just get used to there only being 2 monthly titles. I understand if no one from Gemstone can comment on this, but I really would like it if someone could comment or a least give a little hint! Please!!! (Said like Roger Rabbit!!! :))

I'm interested in tracking down the "brittle mastery of Donald" stories that
have been published in English. I'm using a pretty narrow definition here,
including only stories that actually call Donald "Master _______" or "Master
of ______" and that follow the classic pattern fairly closely. For instance,
"Sauce for the Duck" (Ildahl/Milton/Jippes; printed in the first Treasures
volume) doesn't make this list, because Donald doesn't really have a gift at
cookery; he just has someone else's spice bottle. In addition to Barks's
Rainmaker, Mover, Glasser and Wrecker, I've seen the following:

Rosa, Master Landscapist
Lustig/Van Horn, It's Bats, Man!
Transgaard/Gerstein/Vicar, Master of Mice (DD 338)
Milton/Jippes, A Clean Case of Competence (DD 306)

Have any other mastery stories been published in English? And Gemstone
folks: will the story "Master of Disaster," which was scheduled for a
canceled title, be published in some other venue?

Some of you might find the following information useful...

Included in this week's (# 9-2007) Swedish Kalle Anka & Co, there is a
small poster by Don Rosa that celebrates "60 years of Scrooge McDuck
adventurers". The poster is probably also published in the Danish and
Norwegian editions.

This poster is also out in Norway, Finland and in the back of the german DD Sonderheft.

Sadly not the danish edition. We did get two of the posters - different ones than the ones you've gotten so far - in our weekly some weeks ago. We fans of course hope to get them all, but our local publisher haven't been very open about their plans for this. I'd prefer them one per month - but let's see.
