Hi all,
Thank you to all those who have sent their good wishes. Happy to report that
our house only suffered a single broken glass and what seems like superficial
cracks in the exterior cladding after the Terry Fermies managed to move our fair
city about 3m or so closer to Calisota. The family is all well, although
getting a bit fed up with the aftershocks.

Glad to read that you and the family are ok. I hadn't thought about the fact that you might be near or in Christchurch. An earthquake and the accompanying aftershocks are certainly a potent reminder that we are not in control of the world around us. The link you sent was both fascinating and frightening. Amen to Chuck Munson's comments concerning Shaun in New Zealand and the earthquake! Whether the Carl Barks gremlins (Terry Fermies ) are responsible needs to be investigated: maybe DarkWing Duck or the CIA or NASA or Detective Mickey Mouse can take the case!

Not sure if this will interest anyone on list, but since I haven't posted much
over the past couple years, I thought I'd share with you something I've been
doing for the past couple months just for fun.

"Torch") and an on-line friend named Robert (Bobster), both being fans of Marvel
& DC comics, undertook the idea of creating a template for other fans to
basically create their own avatars. We called this "Micro-Heroes". Later it
evolved and more templates were created. You may have seen them all over the net
since they caught on and became really popular. After many characters were
created, clothing templates were created, and it became sort of a "paper doll"
like thing for fans. Over the years TV shows, like "Star Trek" and movies like
"Harry Potter" and even sports stars were created as Micro-Heroes. Lately, I
started playing around (by request) with the idea of making Disney Princesses and
finally creating a template for making Disney Ducks.

Another friend, Kat, has "adopted" my Princesses and posted them individually to
her own website which can be seen here:

As for other things I've done, I've been playing with sort of a merging of Marvel
characters in Duck-form with the idea of playing on the "Funny Animal" theme, but
you probably have to have some familiarity with the Marvel Characters in order to
understand the play. The idea was to blend comicbook artists and creators like
Steve Gerber, Roy Thomas and Carl Barks while using names that were reminiscent
of Duck, Goose or Swan-related notions (especially food). ;)

The rest of my Microhero stuff are more serious either relating to Star Trek,
Marvel Comics or characters that I made up. Sadly, I don't currently have a site
where I have showcased them... I used to, but it is in shambles do to problems
with my service provider and a lack of desire to continuously go back and fix all
the stuff they did to mess it up (the SP was bought and sold several times which
destroyed the links as some of you might recall, my original e-mail address was
"xephyr at jps.net, then xephyr at onemain.com, and now xephyr at cwnet.com.... I never
changed providers... they changed on me.).
A site that does feature many of my superhero Micros is

but sadly, the guy who maintains the site doesn't list who created what. I have
a couple hundred of mine scattered throughout that site.
