The book is scheduled for january 2012. The misunderstanding is due to a change in ISBM number. See http://serieforum.se/viewtopic.php?p=132244#p132244.

Hello!

Even in if it?s in a language I don?t understand, a book featuring Barks?
paintings is interesting (I don?t have The Fine Art of Walt Disney?s Donald
Duck).

Does any of you have a link to a page featuring the book, please? Or is it
too early (hence your not having already linked to it).

The title appears to be CARL BARKS EXTRA -M?LERI OCH GRAFIK ? is that right?

Thanks!

Olivier

According to the forum link, the title was changed to "Carl Barks ? M?lningar och teckningar" and won't be published until January. Webshops in Sweden always seem to base their URLs on ISBNs -- and they currently only seem to list the old ISBN, which won't work.

?
In Swedish, the title will be Carl Barks ? M?lningar och teckningar (Paintings and Drawings).
Included on 416 pages are all Disney oils, many many drawings and watercolors etc.
Compiled and written by Geoffrey Blum.

It's part of the same Barks series as these (Swedish) volumes:
http://www.adlibris.com/se/product.aspx?isbn=9174054309

http://www.adlibris.com/se/product.aspx?isbn=9174053523

though thicker (and it's sold at a higher price).
(Soon to be...) Published in Norwegian and Swedish.

With the pending publication of the Swedish book on Bark's Oils, I thought
it might be interesting to show a letter Barks wrote while he was painting
one of his most famous oils. I obtained it about 10 years ago from the Duck
Artist, Pat Block, who worked with Barks.

He tells another artist how to draw the ducks and included a photo of his
latest work at the time.

Thank you very very much for sharing this with us, Jeff!

Since several readers seemed to enjoy the copy of the letter from from
Barks, I decided to did into my collection and pull out a couple more works
that most Duck fans have probably not seen.

As many of you know Art Babbitt was fired from Disney in 1941 for Union
activities. Attached are a couple of pencils from that time frame, (Donald
in an Indian Headdress with a Merry Christmas from Art) and a 1941 pencil he
did to support the Strike. (Disney on Strike).
On the original you can read the Union name and address in the lower right
hand corner.

These two pieces were probably signed by Art after they were drawn.

I hope you enjoy them.
