He has ideas, but sadly they won't ever be done. His ability to draw in
fine detail has been too diminished from his eye surgery. It is unlikely we
will ever again see 2 artists/writers like Carl Barks and Don Rosa.
Two very intelligent guys who can both compose a great story and draw what
they imagine. I grew up reading Carl and had the privilege to meet him, and
Don and I have become friends and I have thoroughly enjoyed some of his
stories as an adult. As someone once told me, I am the last generation to
know the first generation of comic creators. I guess I lived in the right era.

I don't know if this has been discovered by others as well, but if
not, I thought I should point out here that in the first Fantagraphics
Carl Barks book, Lost in the Andes, there are still changes in "Voodoo
Hoodoo", so that story still hasn't been published in its original
form in the USA since its original publication in 1949.
I posted about that some time ago at

I wrote in Swedish, but you can see what's happened in the pictures.
Everything in Africa is intact, but in Duckburg Bop, Bop has a
"NOSSAH!" changed into "NOSSIR!", just like in Another Rainbow's Carl
Barks Library.
This must be just a mistake, since no one would insist on changing
only that and not other things in this story. Just as it's a mistake
that Donald's name is missing from his mailbox in a later panel,
probably because the images are taken from a source where that has
been removed to be replaced with a translation. (I remember similar
problems elsewhere in Another Rainbow's CBL.)
So when if ever do you think Voodoo Hoodoo will be republished
unchanged? Fantagraphics ought to be done with their project in 15
years or so. If then some new collected works of Carl Barks is started
a couple of decades after that it might be just in time for the
centennial of this story!

yet; I only thumbed through the book in a store to check the way Foola Zoola
and his tribe (an Bombie) were drawn, before ordering it from amazon.com

Will you correct this In your book (that is, cross the "Nossir"-- or just
leave it-- and write "Nossah" above it)?
Which is the worse: having a mistake or leaving it? "desecrating" the book
or correcting?
I admit I have come to a point where I prefer to correct such things as
forgotten apostrophes and other such mistakes (in pencil); the way it was
printed can still be seen, and in any case, it was not the author's intent
to have a spelling or grammatical mistake, so I'm being respectful to his
work (obviously, I don't correct intentional shortcuts mistakes "wanna",
"gonna", "I ain't", "I yam what I yam", ..., which are clearly part of the
characterization).
