To get two extremes, read Diane Disney Miller's The Story of Walt Disney, a biography by Walt's daughter - warm heartful insight view, perhaps slightly rosy but quite nice, and Mark Eliot's Walt Disney, Hollywood's Dark Prince published by Birch Lane Press; 1993 which is filled with hatred and intentional lies trying to make Disney one of the most evil person in Hollywood.
Bob Thomas' Walt Disney, An American Original is the "official approved by Disney co." biography. Slightly toned down but mostly accurate.
First book mentioned is probably the hardest one to get.
