<What are the names of the nephews?>
<Easy! Huey, Dewey and Loiue!> you answer,
but are you really sure?!
In Quack Pack, their name are Huebert, Deuteronomy and Louis.
In 1937, when they must to find a name for Huey, they choose Hughy, an abbreviation of Hugh.
In a few stories, Loiue is called Luey.
In an italian story Dewey is called Dewie.
Furthermore, in the famous Gilles Maurice's Duck family tree, Dewey seems to have another name that starts with D.
Now, I repeat the question:
<What are the names of the nephews?>

They are Huey Dewey and Louie of course. If you see how I spelled their names that's how they usually spell it. The other names are for speculation purposes after all comic books and cartoons are about using your imagination.

Martin Söllig, in his impressing grand Mehrfachwesen theory (the theory of the existence of "multiple beings" in Duckburg), regards the "fourth nephew" as a short-time, rare fourth body which the usually stable triple body creature HD&L may produce (cf. M. Söllig, Die Neffen, 2009, DDSH # 57; yeah, that's the sort of stuff for which one studies at a university :P).

I know him.
I wrote a Topic about he in the Papersera forum, but I don't consider him as an HDL 's brother.

I was always fascinated by Phooey. No one during the inking or editorial process caught that there was an extra nephew?

I forgot about Phooey. He doesn't appear too often except by mistake. I don't know if he is a real nephew or just someone who looks like them.

Very interesting! I didn't know that an Egmont-official story about him exists. The "phenomenon" was treated there in a certain ironic-self-referential way by you and Sutter, I guess. I must see to get an old issue of that magazine (I missed that somehow in 48/1998, I'm afraid; I don't buy every issue of the weekly).

Actually in the first three Barksian evidence images, where the nephews' heads are only visible in rather low resolution within a whole bunch of Woodchucks, one could advance indeed the view that the mysterious "fourth nephew" is just another bird-like JW kid. With respect to the image of the nephews on top of the mountain, this interpretation is a bit difficult, though ...

If anyone did, that person certainly didn't speak up.

Let me know what you think of the story once you've read it. I'd like to hear your opinion.
