The new comic solicitations for november are out and Mickey and Friends is not on the list. Instead we have the first issue of Wizards of Mickey.
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories will begin to feature Mickey Mysteries where Mickey investigates the paranormal.
The Hero Squad series formerly featured in WDCS will move to its own ongoing title called Disney's Hero Squad.

Interesting. Do they plan to use WDCS as a launch title, with every 4 issues being a series launch or character spotlight?

Talk about irony. I joked in the MMF #296 thread that they should consider just renaming the book "Wizards of Mickey" if they planned on running that storyline for the next however many years... and they did it.

Wow! I didn't see that coming. I'm willing to bet, though, that Mickey Mouse and Friends hasn't been cancelled... only shelved for the time being. And the "Mickey investigates the paranormal" scenario sounds like the Italian X-Mickey series.
Preliminary covers for Disney's Hero Squad and Wizards of Mickey can be found at http://www.previewsworld.com/public/default.asp?t=2&m=1&c=6&s=670 and http://www.previewsworld.com/public/default.asp?t=2&m=1&c=23&s=126 .

So Wizards of Mickey, and Ultra Heroes have their own series. That sounds good. Maybe they could have some room for other stories in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories. It's too bad about Mickey Mouse and Friends being cancelled though.

Man, that was quick. I wonder if there will be any press releases or anything on this?

Hooray! Walt Disney's Comics & Stories might have traditional stories (but cut and re-formatted into 3-tier?). totally ridiculous. It's not as if Boom! has a long tradition of 3-tier (as Topolino did).

I'm hoping MM&F returns as a launch platform for new serieses, it seems like that's what WDC&S is doing with its Hero Squad spin-off.

Maybe they will bring it back.

I think renaming MMF "Wizards of Mickey" was a good move. That storyline is LONG and could go on for a few years at 24-32 pages a month. If the only story featured in MMF is that one, might as well just rename the book.

I'm curious if the collected editions will contain Chapter 1 from MMF #296, though...?
