BOOM! has published the cover art for Walt Disney Comics and Stories 699 and Mickey Mouse and Friends 296. There will be a cover A and B.
But it does say 'no final art' in the small print.

I think it's cool that they have the possible covers of the first Boom Issues of Walt Disney's Comics and Stories, and Mickey Mouse and Friends. Do they have a subscription list?

Are they going to honour what's left for Gemstone's customers on paid subscriptions? If so, will they let us apply that value to the particular books we want to apply it to? I only want the Uncle Scrooge from the floppys.

I don't mind getting all four of the Disney Comics that feature the classic Disney Characters especially since they are less expensive than the Gemstone Issues.

I don't like the idea of alternate covers, personally. I can see them doing it once as this is the first issue under BOOM!, but I sincerely hope they don't intend on doing two covers every month.

For other comic series BOOM! does alternate covers for every issue. It doesn't bother me. But I don't see any advantage in it. Why are they doing this? Do the hope to sell with that two copies to every customer?

Robb - you should write Boom and ask them, or at least post that question on their message board to find out. Posting it here won't do any good. :P
Variant covers are usually used to increase sales via collectors. It actually works. Most people will buy two copies of one issue - one to read, one to bag. And the harder to find covers become collectors items more or less.

I noticed that the tentative cover they're using for WDC&S #699 will be the same as Topolino #2727. Cool cover! That means they'll be publishing stories that they've only been doing in the European issues up until now (?) (This issue was published in Italy in March 2008.)

Boom's Disney titles each have three covers. The third covers are 1 in 10 variants.
