In his latest isse of Dial B For Blog, "Robbie" "reveals" the connection between Raiders of the Lost Ark and Barks' Uncle Scrooge stories.
Brian Cronin also addressed this in his "Comic Book Urban Legends" last December.

Thanks for posting these links, Olivier. I've read that George Lucas was a fan of Barks, and no doubt this is the origin of the idea that Lucas likes Barks.
I like Indiana Jones. The movies are easy to enjoy: simple plots, fun characters, intense scenes. Although I like Barks and Uncle Scrooge much more, I think I enjoy them on that same, fun level.

Interesting to see a shot-by-shot comparison. I liked the "interaction" between Scrooge and Indy at the end. On that note, I've always wanted to see an actual Uncle Scrooge/Indiana Jones crossover. Why not? The DC superheroes crossed over with the Looney Tunes once. I could see Scrooge and Indy arguing over the treasure (Scrooge wants to keep it for himself, Indy wants to give it to a museum) while narrowly escaping a booby-trapped temple.
