It seems that besides Brazil, Joe Carioca isn't mentioned much in comics. Sometimes in Dutch or American, but I wish there would be more JOC comics in the states.

Amen to that.

I agree with you on that one, I love the two Rosa stories that include him and Panchito Pistoles!

I really enjoyed looking at bits of the Brazilian comics over at INDUCKS; but it would be very nice if
they could print some of them in English.

I know that Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #670 has a story with Ze. :)

In many cases Jose Carioca has been a kind of replacement for Donald Duck, in countries like Brazil. Stories have been redrawn with Carioca as hero, instead of Donald. I don't think people here would like to see those in print again.
But maybe other stories and daily strips with Carioca would be interesting for some. The brazilian production in general is unexplored territory, for scandinavian and US publishers.

Just to point out: there are no daily strips with José (as far as I know). There's a good handful of Sunday strips, though.

I'm working on a few new José Carioca stories to submit to Dutch Disney Comics (Sanoma).

You're right, as always.

Some Mickey Mouse sunday pages were also redrawn as Carioca stories, it seems.
