The Golden Helmet/Charts of Columbus book came out today, just wanted to mention the great job done on this one. The bonus material was outstanding, and I was very pleased to see that Don's covers/pinups/extra panels were included inside as well. Awesome work Gemstone!
I do have a question though; how come the Egmont coloring was used on the Rosa story? Where the original files for the Gladstone printing lost? I noticed this as well for the reprint of "A Little Something Special" in the Disney Treasures book (which was an unfortunate case where the US coloring was FAR superior IMHO). Anyone know?

Great news :) I'm looking forward to get this book in Germany.

That is very good news! I thoroughly enjoyed the first two volumes of this great series. I hope they get around to publishing all Barks/Rosa coupled stories eventually.
Now if only Amazon.com would get the book in stock so I could get my hands on it.

Also, anybody know when the Barks/Rosa Collection Vol. 4: The Mysterious Stone Ray/Cash Flow is due to come out?

No Fethry but I would like to get it when it does.

In the Gladstone printing of "Columbus," all the voice balloons had been redrawn and enlarged to fit the gigantic, early computer lettering. For this printing, we wanted to use Rosa's original balloons with better lettering?thus our sourcing Egmont's art and color, in which the balloons were original.
In the case of "A Little Something Special," unfortunately, the original files for the Gladstone printing WERE lost.

Thanks for the info Ramapith.

Ah, so I see! The lettering is FAR better this time out, I'm appreciative you took the time to re-do it! Any plans to give other Rosa stories from that era the same treatment? Like in a Don Rosa Library perhaps? :D And the colors are done well enough by Egmont in this case that I don't really mind the difference.

Too bad about ALSS, though. I'd have taken a re-printed scan of the original printing over those colors. Too bland and extreme over-use of limes and yellow-greens. Never been a fan of a blond Gladstone either. :)

We already did "The Treasury of Croesus" this year (US 372), and we'll do "The Once and Future Duck" next year (TREASURES 4). Be on the lookout...

This book also arrived at Amazon Germany :)

Hey Ramapith are you going to do the one part version of The Once and Future Duck or the three part version in Walt Disney Treasures #4? I have the three part version in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #s 607-609. What other stories are you going to include in that volume?

TToC looked great! I'll be there for Treasures 4. Any other details on that one?
Rodney
Everyone did a wonderful job on this. The new lettering is great.

If you wish to see how popular Don Rosa is in Finland, check my video:

Don is currently in Finland and lines are really long! He is in this video at the shopping mall City Market, just four hours ago (10.10.2008/13:00 pm). And there were no new books or even any calendars published this year.
