Guess What there is a new Duck Tales TPB coming out this November. It's The Gold Odyessey reprinted from Duck Tales (Disney Series) #s 9-15. I saw it advertised in the latest issues of Walt Disney's Comics and Stories, and Uncle Scrooge.

Not the greatest multipart Scrooge story by far, but leaps and bounds better than the wildly disjointed and mediocre Scrooge's Quest, that's for sure. With any luck Gemsone will use this opportunity to release more trades following this. The Disney produced Chip and Dale multiparters perhaps? More italian serials? Those definately deserve the trade format IMO - a lot more than Scrooge's Quest did - but it is certainly a start.

Well, we'll see what the reaction to this one is like.
I should note that we had no particular plans to publish "The Gold Odyssey" until recently?but repeated reader demands put it on the schedule. Here's hoping everyone's satisfied when it lands in the shops!

Great idea! I would *love* to see some Gemstone TPBs collecting 2 or 3 long Scarpa or other Italian serials. Anyone else interested in this?

There are a lot of good stories that need to be published. Strangely I'm one of those readers that requested The Gold Odyessey. If you have Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #691 you should read my letter.

The more Disney trades, the better, as far as I'm concerned. The price point to page ratio is excellent. I admit I still haven't made it through "Scrooge's Quest" (although my kids have twice now), but I'm on board for this trade sight unseen.

The same quibbles that I had with Scrooge's Quest apply to the Gold Odyssey story wise. I think its only saving grace of it however, was that the story was written by someone who was more familiar with how the ducks were supposed to read as opposed to someone who's best work was doing costumed superheroes.
Yeah, its fractured in terms of story telling style, but at least the characterizations are a bit better and it tries to be somewhat coherent. Eh. Your milage may vary.
Anyways - yes. I would love to see more trades.

Yes! I would love to be able to read long Scarpa stories in English. They certainly aren'tlikely to print them in the Dutch magazines (at least they haven't ever done so).

Sweet! I missed out on it back in the Disney Comics days (could only afford US and DDA back then). I'll be picking this up for sure.

I know what you mean Argonaut. I couldn't get every Disney Comic they made when there was a huge selection. It wasn't after the Disney Comics Implosion of 1991 occured that I started collecting every issue up until 1995. I would like to get this graphic novel myself. I only have the last chapter. It would be interesting to see what the first six chapters would be like.

Now That's a good idea. It would be cool to see a Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers TPB as well as a Darkwing Duck one. Maybe they should reprint some of the stories from old issues of Disney Adventures especially now that the magazine doesn't exist anymore.

I think they were hoping to see some higher sales due to non-Disney readers picking up the Scrooge's Quest book for Marv Wolfman, maybe drawing some new readers.
Me, I'd be happy to see just about anything collected in these reasonably priced trades. :)
