Topic: Hello, and some questions

Hi.
I'm a longtime Disney reader and fan from Portugal, currently residing in Copenhagen, Denmark (I saw a lot of Danes here :).
I recently found about Gladstone and their Disney comics releases, and wanted to start collecting them. As an avid collector, my overall want is to "have everything". :) But I don't really know what's out there. What collections, anthologies, or whatever else is there for me to start getting? What do you guys recommend? My main point of interest is Scrooge, Donald and the whole Duckberg world. I like the Mickey/Goofy universe too, but not as much, so I'd rather start with the Scrooge/Donald ones. What should I start by getting? What are the must haves? Just FYI, I love the old look of the comics (Carl Barks, I suppose -- I'm not too knowledgeable in this area yet).
I also have boxes full of comics back in my grandfather's attic. Those were all bought during most of my childhood, probably between 1990-97, in Portugal. I *think* that some (many? most?) of the stories there were reprints from old Disney comics, but I'm not sure. Is it worth trying to "get everything" even though I already have many comics, for fear that I might end up buying comics where I already own all the stories in some different comic?
I'm sorry if any of these questions could be easily answered by some simple google searches, but I got so excited about finding this forum that I couldn't help but posting immediately.
Thanks!

lorian I don't know if I can help you there maybe you could start by getting them from scratch all the way from the first to last issues if you can afford them which I hope you can.

Hello lorian and welcome!

I'm one of the Danes and if you live in København you can visit a lot of great stores that deal with old Disney comics.
Feel free to ask!

Do you read and speak Danish?

Bem-vindo, e bom día Lorian! What town or city do you live in? In København there is Fantask and Pegasus that have Gladstone, Disney and Gemstone comics. There are also some other shops. There are a few shops in Jylland that have them as well. You can also buy them on Amazon.com and other internet sites.
You might also be able to obtain old Brasilian Disney comics for low cost:

Hi & welcome!

Maybe some of Gemstone's one-shots would help you feel around-- the Walt Disney Treasures series and the Barks / Rosa reprints, for instance, particularly the Carl Barks' Duck Tales volumes, which feature major stories.

Be sure to bookmark this site, as it will be extremeley useful to you:

You can browse through the issues, search for stories (beware: some words are not taken into account), find in what books they have been published, ...

The following will also be useful for keeping track of Gemstone's releases:

Olivier, just for information:
> (beware: some words are not taken into account)
I think I solved this bug a few days ago. Common words were not taken into account previously but now they are.

Thanks!
Searching for such things as "Somewhere in Nowhere" was impossible.
