Simple question:
If it meant that Gemstone could possibly get more revenue, would you be abject and horrified to having advertisements in the book that WEREN'T your typical house ads or would you prefer to leave the books "ad free"? Like say - if the back cover ad were not in-house, but something entirely different as opposed to ads that actually take up the inside of the book content.
For the Gemstone people - would having ads on the back of the book necessarily help things along any further than what they are now in terms of revenue, or would it be one of those things that wouldnt really make much if any difference at all?

I would be perfectly fine with Gemstone having non in-house ads, including the back cover, if it helped Gemstone financially.
I have just always assumed Gemstone could not get any outside advertising. If they could get ads in, but chose not to, that would be a big mistake in my book. I don't think that is the case though.

Yeah, I see no problem with a Bubble Yum, Sea Monkey, or Grit ad in the comic. I am not sure how a back cover ad would look on the prestige books though. But, the way I see it, anything to keeps the comics coming.

The in-house ads (L&ToSMD books, Disney Treasures books, ...) could probably be gathered onto a single page, making room for paid ads by movie studios or whatever, without affecting the current number of pages nor of story pages.
The problem is: would such people deem Disney Comics an interesting place to place their ads? Wouldn't they prefer to give all their business to D.C., Marvel, ..., TV? Is the circulation of Gemstone's Disney comics large enough to lure them?
