There are a lot of rather high graded Disney comics by Barks for sale.
I like to have early Barks comics in high CGC grade if the Barks cover is nice. Then you can't read it - just look at the beauty which can be enough if you have a reading copy as well !

I wanted this file copy of WDC&S 29 in CGC 8.5 VF+ condition with a fantastic cover probably by Walt Kelly whose covers I think vary in quality even if Inducks still state artist Dan Noonan ? whose confirmed art work I would like to compare with.

The cover drawing I think has a better style than those of the Barks period early 1950's and thereafter. It is fairly ressembling a possible Barks drawing from the same period of around 1943-1945 even if you see a clear difference from Barks.
However I got the even artistically better and rather cheap but really classic Barks cover of WDC&S 108 in the same CGF rated VF+ 8.5 condition. It is probably scarce in that or better condition.

More expensive was Ancient Persia in even better condition CGC VF/NM 9.0 but maybe the cheaper WDC&S 29 cover is better and gets you more (artistic quality) for the money.

This Barks DD 275 cover is not one of the best One Shot covers since I think Donalds face is in an rather awkward angle.
There can't be many WDC&S 29 in existance in such a high grade so the Duck collector greedy side of me failed in this case.
I would like to have such CGC high grade comic books with nice cover art hanging on a wall but the daylight may harm them I guess.

I won the battle for the NM- 9.2 graded file copy of the WDC&S comic book with the first Barks cover for that title.

But I finally lost the long fight for the equally graded second WDC&S Barks cover comic book which more than quadrupled from the by me expected price area. I gave up with a USD 2400 bid but it must have been at least two other even more eager bidders judging from the winning USD 2600...

I did take revenge and won this my favorite (probably Walt Kelley cover but INDUCKS state "Dan Noonan ?" , but the auction site states it is called "Out of the frying pan" which is definately a mistake since that is only the name of a Taliaferro comic strip inside which has nothing to do with the cover picure). It is the WDC&S 29 comic book I slept away in June 2013 described above but this one was in slightly less top condition but even so a beutiful CGC rated file copy.
