Thank you, both for complimenting my list and reminding me of the name of the villain on Timon and Pumba. I was wrong, but I was still pretty close. :P But hey, I haven't seen the show since it was last on the air like a decade ago.

I just realized that I neglected to rate THE MIGHTY DUCKS. If you can't say anything nice... Even S&M had some good (Pith Possum, mostly) in it on occasion. MIGHTY DUCKS, not so much.

If you like Shnookums and Meat you're entitled to like it but I hate it because it's a rip off from Ren and Stimpy which is not really that good a show to begin with and That's all I have to say about that.

While I'm not that big of Ren and Stimpy fan myself (belive it or not but I have hard digestiing gross-out humor) I respect how ground breaking it was in showing how insane you can go with animated shows - both humor, character desings and how you can have fun with forms of animation - and I respect it for being infulance on many shows I enjoyde much more ("Ed, Edd and Eddy" for example)
I do have a hate-love relationship with shows creator John Kricfalusi. I sometimes enjoy reading or listening what he has to say about what cartoons should be and I find his tips on animating valuable... the other time I just find him pretentious if not unplesant in expresing his personal philosophies and I find him especialy harsh on stuff he don't like (at one point he went on rant how he hate Disney's "Fantasia" and how apperently Walt only made that movie to show how higher he is then other animators in the business and above doing the cartoonish stuff... )
I do share his frustration on how od "wacky" Daffy Duck was much more fun character then "sore looser" version, however. ;)

Not to go of topic too much, but I was quite a fan of Ren and Stimpy back in the day. I only saw a few episodes on reruns as a kid, but I still really enjoyed them. I also do respect the show for how groundbreaking and influential it was on so many other cartoons as you, Mr. M, mentioned.
I haven't read much of John K's stuff on animation and cartoons, but I do remember him saying some controversial things. I remember there was one Looney Tunes director he never liked (I think it was Fritz Freleng but I could be wrong). I think John K also wasn't a fan of Carl Bark's work (blasphemy :P) but I could be wrong.

I read both of John K.'s posts about Barks on his blog this morning (the same ones you linked too), and not to derail this topic even further, but I've NEVER found the Barksian Anthropomorphic Dog People odd, creppy or scary in the least. They seemed perfectly fine to me. With the whole "Plutos a dog, whats Goofy?" and "A talking dog with other dogs?" thing, well, I might as well start a new thread by this point because, well, I don't want to derail this thread even further.
And yes, John K did call Freleng a "boring director" in one of the Looney Tunes Golden Collections commentaries. I believe it was on a cartoon on the third collection if my memory serves me right. I personally disagree but its all subjective in the end.

To be honest for me the first place is reserved for "Rescue Rangers" don't ask my why,it's just no matter how much time i watch other cartoons "Rescue Rangers" had "that" wich i love,of course it's my opinion.If i have to make TOP 5 list it would looks like that
1.Rescue Rangers
2.Duck tales
3.Gummy Bears
4.Bonkers
5.Darkwing duck
REMEMBER that's only my opinion and to be honest IT'S HARD to make good "TOP X" list because every cartoon had good moments,So do not hate me because "Darkwing duck is awesome why you put it on 5 place".The only cartoon wich i 100% sure is on it right place is "Rescue Rangers" others like (for me) give me around 1% more entertainment than something above.I hope you understand my thinking and sorry for my English

I wish Disney would show a greater level of respect to their televsion properties. So tired of having 50-75 percent of the Disney Afternoon releases, the Muppets, etc.
I wouldn't be opposed to Disney emulating what WB is doing with its Archive Collection.

Not to derail this topic anymore, but on one of John K.'s blog posts on Carl Barks what was that story where the guy shoved the accordion down Donald Duck's throat? I recognized/was able to find out the other Bark's stories he used images from, but not this one.
