Does anyone else think Brian Bolland would make a good Disney comics artist? He can draw cartoony characters in a semi-realistic style:

Sorry for the Howard, but don't you think Bolland could draw Donald too?
Olivier
No, Bolland has never done any Disney work; he's an excellent artist, who might probably lean towards a Rosa approach were he to do ducks, I'd say.

Bolland is an amazing artist with a long and varied history. Not sure if he'd be good doing Disney characters though. His work tends to be hyper realistic and stylized and possesses a level of detail about it that would make even Don Rosa blush. :)
He'd been doing DC covers for the longest time and you can always tell a Bolland cover from everyone else. I imagine that if he ever did Disney work the overseas Egmont consortium would do somersaults in their desk chairs at how non-traditional/non-house style it would be. It would be an interesting experiment, but not sure if it'd be a successful one.
Then again - John Byrne did a rather complex and very well rendered Mickey Mouse/Phantom Blot cover once. So who knows...

A great cover, indeed.

Bolland also takes a long time to do art--"Camelot 3000" was late because of this. So now Bolland sticks to doing covers. But Bolland ducks, mice, or Gadget would be great to see.

Mile-High Comics has a larger picture of this Escherian cover:

I'm assuming I wouldn't like his style for Disney characters, as I don't like Don Rosa's work, and wouldn't like Robert Crumb doing Disney.
WB
You probably wouldn't Robb. I can't imagine anyone that's a hardcore traditionalist liking anything that Bolland would do with the classic characters. Then again...we've never really seen what he could do with the characters and how on model or traditionalist he could be even with his well known sense of detail. Like I said, interesting experiment, not entirely sure if it would be successful though.
Personally, I like and prefer detail with some dynamic and different layouts - but all things in moderation :)

Seeing the larger Mile High version, I just have to say:
GAWD I LOVE THAT COVER! It's so Escheresque and crazy and Mickey just has this "holy crap" look on his face. It's just a plain good rendering of Mickey and the Blot(s). Shame he's not wearing the button trousers and doesn't have the classic look, but beggars can't be choosers. :)
If Gemstone ever chose to reprint that story and DIDN'T use that cover it would be a CRIME UPON HUMANITY. AN UTTER AND TERRIBLE CRIME. XD
