I read the Mythos island saga last week-- I had read the first half in Super Géant Picsou, and had to wait till now to read it all.

Mickey and Donald are very different, and Pat & Carol McGreal played them off each other well (as well as Uncle Scrooge & Goofy).
I had never thought of it, and have not given it any thought since, but, lest I forget, I decided to start this thread: how different are Minnie & Daisy?

In this particular story, they were perfect equals.

More generally, both can be strong-willed and stubborn, just like their male counterparts.
As women, they are naturally often portrayed as being fickle, whimsical, somewhat tyrannical-- maybe more so Daisy than Minnie.

One major difference is that I cannot remember an adventure featuring Daisy along with the ducks, whereas Minnie has been featured in mouse stories for a long time-- forcing her presence onto Mickey (maybe even playing castaway, I seem to recall), or searching for him to rescue him ("Mythos Island" and, long before this, "Blaggard Castle").

What is your analysis?

I've always thought that Minnie was more openly emotional Daisy in the comics. (Like for example in a lot of comics you see Minnie worrying about if Mickey is alright). But I'm not sure about Daisy. I think see's a lot more indepentant from Donald then Minnie is from Mickey but she still worries about him. So I guess the way they act kind of depends on the situation...but it's still hard to tell. :/

For me Minnie is much more the archetype of a housewife than Daisy. Daisy is much more the archetype of the fiancée.
But you can find examples and counter examples.

Examples :
- Daisy is often like as sweet haerted as a teenager in the stories from Daisy Duck's Diary. She's living alone. She has not really made her definitive choice between Donald and Gladstone.
- Minnie wants to live with Mickey and she is in despair when he goes away to live new adventures (Gottfredson, Italian stories of... Scarpa I think)

Counter-Examples :
- Many stories from Daisy and Donald by Bob Gregory show them as a formal couple living in the same house.
- Minnie is sensible to the charms of Montmorency in Mickey's Rival
