On behalf of my learning a little french and Latin in scool more than 30 years ago I actually understood most of it, even if I've never read any Spanish (well, it helped that I've read Lo$, though). Did you ever read 'An Informal Biography of Scrooge McDuck' by Jack L. Chalker?
