How much do you earn as an artist drawing or writing Disney comics?
I suppose each page gives a certain amount of $, but can anyone give me a hint of how much that is?
Is the wage very individual, or perhaps dependent of whitch country you live in?

I'll be surprised if anyone tells you what he or she earns. The rate paid for artists differs even within the same company. I would guess (from what I've heard) that the wage rate paid by Egmont varies more between that paid to the Spanish studios' artists and the Northern European and USA artists, than within those 2 major groups. From what I've heard, the page rate for scripts is the same for everyone at Egmont, and that rate is higher than it is at Sanoma, and Sanoma's rate is higher than that of Disney Italia. I haven't heard anything about what French Disney pays. When I last heard, the average rate paid to artists by Egmont was higher than Sanoma paid, but a fair amount closer percentagewise than the difference between what the two firms pay for script pages. But these figures I'm discussing (but not revealing) were from about 1995. I don't know how they compare today for artists.

I just want to point out that revealing the figures does´nt say anything about any artists income whatsoever! Unless you know a certain artists productivety per year in submitted pages, you can´t say what the income would be, and for free lancers and part time employees, it would be impossible. Therefore I can´t see why the page rates should be a secret. It would´nt have to be a specific company´s rates, just the rates in general. Barks said he made the same as a plumber. My guess would be that this is still the case if you work with comics full time. Better than a factory worker for sure, but not as much as say a lawyer or a doctor. Still, I´m just guessing.

Reportedly, this is the standard page rate in The Netherlands:
script page: ?¬75
penciled page: +/- ?¬140?
inked page: ?¬60?
If those figures are correct, the total is: ?¬ 275 a page, without lettering.
