We have decided to hold our meeting in Eindhoven, as it is easier to get to than Venlo. We have requested today, that Eppo (stripwinkel) in The Centrum, very near Eindhoven Centraal Station, allow us to use their extra room. They have not yet answered. We have set a tentative date of Saturday, July 11th, but are open to changing the date to Thursday or Friday, The 9th or 10th, depending on what is better for people to attend. Sanoma Uitgevers ("Donald Duck Weekblad" finishing artists, Tim Artz and Henrieke Goorhuis, will be there, as will I, Rob Klein, Sanoma Uitgevers and Egmont storywriter and storyboard artist/scenaricist. We will give a demonstration of thinking up and plotting out a storyline from the brainstorming of story ideas, through thumbnail sketches and laying out the pages in rough storyboard sketches. We hope to continue working on that story, and eventually submit it to Sanoma. And, we hope then that you will all eventually get to read the finished story in Donald Duck Weekblad within a year or so. We will also have one of the Dutch Disney Comics indexers there, as well as several fans from southeastern and eastern Netherlands, and I hope also to get a friend who is a comics journalist to come, as well.
I know that several Dutch members have recently joined DCF (some of whom were previously members of McDrake.NL Forum). I hope several of you will come.
Please let us know which day between July 9th and 12th is best for you.

July 9th for me. July 10th might be possible; 11th and 12th are definitively out.

We'll try to make it Friday the 10th. That's better for me. We'll have to wait and see if Eppo lets us use their extra room, and if other fans will be coming. If no one else but you and Dennis and Harry and we 3 artists plan to come, and Eppo can't let us use the room, I'd like to move the meeting back to Venlo. Both Henrieke and Tim said they would go there if we hold it there. And my comics journalist friend from Kempen may also come if it is in Venlo. If no one else wants to come and we cannot use Eppo, and you tell me you can't come on Friday, we'll change it to Thursday (but, I really hope you can come Friday). I'll let you know when we have more news.

Michiel P (Q) has said he will attend. So, we now have about 8 members.

We're still trying to make it on Friday, 10th of July, so that one of our first-committing members can come. If those of you that have committed to coming can't come on either Friday or Saturday, please let us know, as we have to let Eppo know which day we will make it, so they can advertise ahead. Then, perhaps some other fans living in the greater Eindhoven area (and even Den Bosch and Venlo, and perhaps even from Tilburg) will come. I will ask writer/scenaricist Frank Jonker to come,as well, but I suspect that he will be too busy or, that might be during his holiday vacation time.

It appears now that we will make it on Saturday, because that day is better for more people. But, if you plan to come, please let us know whether Friday or Saturday is better for you, so we can know if we can make it Friday, so Duck Fan Down Under can come, too. Also, if Eppo lets us hold the meeting in their shop, we need to tell them which day enough ahead of time so their advertising will have time to bring more fans from the local area. I now have a comics journalist also coming, who may write an article about the demonstration/meeting.

Hidde Bart, good Donald artist (not yet professional-but, very very good), has said that he will come. So, we have 9, and at least 4 people to draw drawings.

Still Saturday?

I know that you can't come on Saturday, and we want to make it so you can come.

But, we also have to see if Eppo wants to have us there on a Saturday, or if Friday will be okay. We also want them to advertise. Also, we have to see how many people can not come if it is held Friday. The most important factor is IF we can get Eppo to provide us the space, and support the meeting. THEN, we can prioritise (decide which day is better). To be honest, it seems as if it will be more likely to be held on Saturday, but Friday is still a possibility. If people wanting to come to the event cannot come on either Friday or Saturday, they need to tell me, so we can decide which day it should be.

I got it. Thanks!

Good news for our Dutch fans! Eppo Stripwinkel in Eindhoven (Kleine Berg 33) has agreed to sponsor our Disney Comics fan meeting and storywriting demonstration in their shop on Saturday, 11th July. They will likely advertise to help get more people to come. Unfortunately, they can't clean up all the storage in their cellar room for us to be able to use it. But, they will let us hold the meeting in their main room, and have a long table that we will be able to use for drawing. We haven't been told when we can start, but we must finish by 16:00. I'm guessing that we should arrive around midday (12:00). Some of us might arrive a little earlier. If some of us want to continue our meeting in a restaurant afterwards, that is a possibility. Their are several restaurants in The Centrum near Eppo and near the Central Train Station. I will get Henrieke to post a map of The Centrum, showing the train station, Eppo Stripwinkel, and, perhaps a few restaurants.
Sorry, Duck Fan Down Under that you won't be able to come. Perhaps I can meet you in Venlo or Roermond on Friday. But, I won't be arriving in Venlo (from Kopenhagen) and have my heavy bags at my lodgings until about 14:00. We can finish this discussion by e-mail.

Here is a map of Eindhoven's centre, showing Kleine Berg (the street on which Eppo Strip(winkel) lies:

Notice that one only has to walk along Stations Weg out of Eindhoven Centraal Station, towards Het Centrum, cross on large street (Westdijk), and walk along the main shopping street walkway(Vrijstraat), which, across Keizersgracht, heads directly to where Kleine Berg starts (near the southwest corner of the map). The number is 333. I will mark exactly where the shop lies, on a later post. Eppo lies just after the end of Kleine Berg's first curve, and at the beginning of its second, just after the intersection with Bergstraat.
