Hi there,
Do you think it would be possilbe for artists (for example Italian) to use Lunchpad McQuack? It would be cool if they would re-introduce this character in normal stories since he has such large fanbase...

They actually did use him in a more regular setting a few times:

...and there are a few more. I don't know why they dropped him, maybe they thought he was getting outdated (http://dcf.outducks.org/img/smilies/roll.png) in the late 90s. However, if Bucky Bug can come back, LMQ could as well. Besides, he fits pretty well with the regular cast, more so than Darkwing Duck, at least the way I see it.

Launchpad is a character who definitely deserves a niche in Duck comics, although a lot of comic-book writers (and some television writers too) have never really gotten a good handle on his personality, as established in the best Ducktales episodes. He's not a mere bland substitute for Donald (as he is in most of his comic-book appearances) or a generic bungling sidekick (as he sadly became on Darkwing Duck); he's a comic version of the classic all-around adventurer-hero, an archetype that's endured in popular culture from the time of Brick Bradford to that of Indiana Jones. Like those characters, he's a courageous and dashing globe-trotter ready to tackle any dangerous venture with a smile and a wisecrack--but he's also a cheerfully oblivious klutz who frequently fails to realize what's going on around him and often wreaks havoc when he's trying to help out.
He should engage in comically over-dramatic heroic posturing (as when he quotes Bogart in "Double O'Duck" and "Uncrashable Hindentanic"), and should often (and amusingly) fall short in his actual attempts at heroism, but he should also be allowed to persistently fumble his way out of trouble and save the day in his own chaotic style (as in "Armstrong" or "Hero For Hire"). Handled in this way, he's a unique and memorable part of the Duck universe. I would also love to see him interact with other Disney characters in the comics--teaming up him and a Gottfredsonian version of Mickey, could, in my opinion, be a lot of fun; Mickey would at first be bemused and irritated at Launchpad's eccentricities (as he was with so many offbeat characters in the Gottfredson strip) but would eventually come to like and wryly respect him.

They already (kind of) intruduced Launchpad in the 'normal Duckburg' here in the Netherlands. In http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=D+94039 , there's a 'Gladstone-ish' rivalry between Launchpad and Donald, while in http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=H+2010-037 , published in last year's Christmas issue of Donald Duck weekly, Launchpad had a more minor (though very adventurous) role. Both comics really have nothing to do with Ducktales, but still show Launchpad in-character.

Thanks, Scroogerello! I *knew* that I'd read a story where Launchpad was in "normal Duckburg," not a DuckTales story, but couldn't put my finger on it. It was the New Year's story from your first link, which was published here in Uncle Scrooge 349.

I believe that story was called New Year's Daze. I read that story and it was pretty funny. It had some offhanded references like Launchpad mentioning Darkwing Duck and Donald quoting the opening lyrics to the Duck Tales Theme song and mentioning that he was in the Navy. He also mentioned the real life singing group Destiny's Child in one panel. I forgot to mention that in the previous panel Launchpad was singing a few lyrics of The Darkwing Duck theme song.
