Just got my Halloween ComicFest packs of mini-comics ("ashcan" size) to give out to trick-or-treaters. IDW did make a mini-comic this year (Angry Birds), so I'm wondering whether in 2015 we'll have Disney mini-comics to give out!! The packs are 20 for five bucks, very reasonable. (You have to order them in summer, though.) If there are Disney ones next year--from IDW or from Fantagraphics--I'll post about it on the forum as soon as they're available to be ordered.
In case anyone with IDW ever sees this...I'd propose Janet Gilbert's All Tricks and No Treats as a good choice for a Disney Halloween mini-comic. The story is accessible to those who've never read a Disney comic, and enjoyable by small children and older children alike. And not yet published in the USA, so it would be great for us Disney comics aficionados, too. A win-win.
And in case anyone didn't know, the "Halloween ComicFest" day this year is Saturday, October 25. Not as many giveaways as on Free Comic Book Day, but still worth a trip to your neighborhood comic store, if you *have* a neighborhood comic book store. As on FCBD, stores give away single copies of these freebies to customers. But the Halloween ashcans are also available, as I said, for anyone to pre-order in packs to use as treats.
