If anyone knows what a furry is by now...likeness of anatomically correct characters (Like Princess Sally from "Sonic" and Lola Bunny)...I think...
But Donald Duck and his friends are birds. Should they be called featheries or what I would like to call them...Duckies?

I prefer the term "funny animals". It has that 50s ring to it, and acknowledges the roots of the comics in that way. They're animals from the funny pages, much like Pogo or Barney Bear.
Ducks only refers to the Duck family, and not characters like Gyro Gearloose, Goofy, or Mickey Mouse. Furries/featheries are a much more 'new' invention, and target a different audience than Disney comics.
