I was reading through Gemstone's publication of Don Rosa's Life and Times of Scrooge, and I noticed a few coloring/lettering errors. The main thing I noticed was that the Statue of Liberty was colored green. As most historians (Don Rosa no doubt included) know, the Statue of Liberty was originally copper-colored, as it is made of copper. The only reason it's green is that the copper has oxidized over the years. So when Lady Liberty is first revealed in the background on the last page of Chapter 4, she should be copper-colored, not green.
Another minor thing I noticed was that on one page, the word "breathe" is spelled "breath". Two different words.
There were other things too, but I can't remember them right now.
Anyway, I just wanted to make sure these things get fixed for the complete Rosa collection.

I have both the softcover Gemstone and hardcover Boom Kids editions of the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck along with the Companion (five books in total). And yes, it seems that the yet to be finished Statue of Liberty being turquoise instead of brown in Chapter Four is still in the Boom Kids edition. Whether its in the Gladstone comic book version I have no idea, as I don't own that issue. The Gladstone Uncle Scrooge issues I do own with the LO$ stories are #285 with Chapter 1, #287 with Chapter 3, #293 with Chapter 9 and #294 with Chapter 9.
In what chapter was the breathe/breath thing in?
On a similar note, I've noticed some coloring differences between the two editions and the versions in the Gladstone/Gemstone Uncle Scrooge issues. The only two I can think of are as follows. In the Gladstone version of The Invader of Fort Duckburg, the battleships in Duckburg's bay are colored all grey. This is a historical error, as US battleships during that era had white bottoms with a red stripe. This was corrected in both the Gemstone and Boom Kids collected editions, as the battleships are colored white and red. Secondly, in Dream of a Lifetime, during the Titanic dream, J.J. Astor IV's hair is colored light brown in the Gemstone edition of the companion, while in the Boom edition his hair is colored white. Considering Astor was only in his late 40's, the brown in the Gemstone version was more accurate.
Lastly, I think I read somewhere (and I could be wrong) that LO$ wasn't going to be in the Fantagraphics Don Rosa collection. If that is the case its a darn shame, considering it really should a part of the collection, even if only for the sake of completion. I mean, I'm pretty sure the European Rosa libraries had the LO$ stories.

Hm...that would be weird if Lo$ wasn't in the collection, seeing Rosa wrote under 90 stories and both volumes so far have over 10 stories in them, and there will be 10 volumes total. There'll definitely be enough room for all the stories, if my calculations are correct. My understanding was that every Rosa story (not counting unofficial/underground stories) will be included.
I'm going to look back through the book to try and find the misspellings.

It's absolutely going to be in the Fantagraphics collection??you can expect the original twelve stories, plus Chapter 0 ("Of Ducks and Dimes and Destinies"), in volumes 4 and 5.

Thirded! :D I'm also very pleased to hear the LO$ stories will be included in the new Fantagraphics Don Rosa collection. I have high hopes for when said volumes finally do come out.

Is Don going to write all-new texts for those, or will it basically be like what was in the Gemstone edition? Either way is good by me.
