David, your link didn't work for me (my software blocked it, and it doesn't usually block links to Inducks). To which story are you referring? I think I have seen a story where Gyro is dating someone, but I don't remember where I saw it.

David is referring to 2 10-page Egmont stories using "Dana Data":
D 97513 "Love Story" -written by Janet Gilbert, drawn by Pedro Alvarez-Canos
D2010-135 "Donald in Computopia" written by Lars Jensen, drawn by Francisco Rodriguez-Peinado

Both of the stories with Dana Data have already been published in The Netherlands, but NOT in The Weekly. One in "Katrien" (mainly for young girls), and the other in a spring special book. I don't think my editors at Sanoma will refuse to accept my story of Gyro trying to have a date with another woman (an inventor he met at an inventors' convention). Can't an unmarried man test the field? Perhaps they'll force me to add him thinking that Dana is out of town for whatever reason? But, I even doubt that.
Those 2 stories have been published mainly in Scandinavia, Finland and Germany, with "Love Story" also published in Italy and France. Neither have been published in USA.

Quote from user: Robb_KMy love interest is a fellow inventor [Gyro] met at an inventors' convention. Do you think that will be a problem because of [Dana Data]?
I'm not your editor, so it's not exactly my judgment call. (-:
But FWIW??Dana is more a computer expert and a programmer, in particular, than an inventor per se.

Good! That makes it easier to consider this new lady redundant. In any case, I don't plan on using her for more than this one story, so I don't see why an editor would have any grounds to object.
It took me 25 years to get my story with Gus Goose having a girlfriend published by Oberon/Geillustreerde Pers/VNU/Sanoma, and for most of that period, they had the same editors. It seems that Joan Lommen may be a little more open to some change, than some of the previous story editors. it also seems that the Egmont editors are allowing some things they didn't years ago.
