This is a silly thing to bring up but...
For years I've seen Mulan, Alice (from "Alice in Wonderland") or Esmeralda (from "Hunchback of Notre Dame") being called a "Disney Princess" in various Disney media despite the fact that nothing in the actual movies makes them a princess in any shape or form.
Yet - oddly enough - why is Megara from "Hercules" left out? She marries Hercules who is the son of... KING OF THE GODS! Dosen't that make her technically a princess? Movie never calls Herc as "prince" but that still makes way more sence then Mulan or Esmeralda.
Something rotten in te state of Disney..

Esmeralda isn't a Disney Princess either. In order to be a Disney Princess, Disney has to officially 'recognize' the character as one, and coronates them. Yes, really. Anyway, Hercules wasn't a Prince, Megara wasn't a Princess, no marriage occurred, also Disney does it based on marketability and popularity, Hercules was not hugely popular.
Also, here is a comic by former Disney animator, Muppet comic book artist, and BOOM artist for (at least) Darkwing Duck, Amy Mebberson.

I know however I've seen character on covers of "Disney Princess magazine" and in few other places that had "Dinsey Princess" name on it.
Her use is much more rare. Mulan is the one that confuse me.

I've seen one or two of those comics on-line but I never would asume it's series this big!!!! WOW!!!!
Very funny and I like the art style. I can totaly imagine this being made into "My Little Pony" like cartoon.

Esmerelda isn't "officially" a princess, but Mulan is, which is indeed quite strange. I can only assume they really, really wanted an East Asian representative to round out the range of ethnicities.

Fun fact about Mulan, she is actually an "honorary" Princess because they know she has no royal connection at all. A more popular movie, and possibly diversity, probably had something to do with it.
