First post of the new year! At least in my time zone. So, anyone got any good Disney New Year stories? 'Course, we all know about Barks' "resolutions" ten-pagers already...

There was one story about New Years (even though if the comic book was realesed before New Year here in Sweden) were the premise was Donald has seen into the future with one of Gyro's machines and would see his house blown up. And of couse in the end it would be his own fault by trying to prevent it, which was caused by fire works, but it was a good read but that's pretty much it about News Year that I have read. But I really enjoyed a story that I got around New Year and only recently had read, which I Talk about in this thread: http://dcf.outducks.org/viewtopic.php?id=668 So 2014 looks promising by that and other comics as well that I have read so far :)
(But then again I have only read the first number and only the ones that has been published in Sweden so perhaps I'm too optimistic :P)

I wrote a 10-pager in which Donald and Neighbour Jones vow (as New Year's resolutions) to stop fighting and be "friends forever". Jan Gulbransson told me he wants to draw it, but it will have to wait a long time, as Jan is currently working on several special album/hardbound book series continuation stories for Egmont/Ehapa (Special German projects-but which will also appear in regular Scandinavian books) with another one to be added this spring. In addition, Jan has several stories lined up to draw for Danish Egmont regular distribution, that must wait until the special projects are completed. So, that story may not be printed until 2016 or later.

The "Millennium Orb" saga is series of stories about the characters (both Mouse universe and Duck universe) trying to stop master plan of an evil medival time wizard which slowly build up to one big epic climax which is set during the 2001 New Year cellebration : http://coa.inducks.org/subseries.php?c=Millennium+Orb
I enjoyed this series when I was younger a lot. Would love GeoX review it on his bog BTW ;)

Ow, I think it's very good for the most of the time, especialy the chapter that center around Phantom Blot fighting other villians who are under the control of the wizard... plus back in the day I only know stories that appear in Poland and those had VERY rarly had Duck universe and Mouse stories crossover so It was fun to see so many characters at once.

In a way it was the story from which I learn what chekhov gun is [not the term but the trope] as the writers Carol and Pat McGreal [... husband and whife team?] apear to be very found of elements that would appear just for a quick gag that then would pop back in the story to be used by the heroes to save the day at the end.

In USA edition they swich the date of New Year from 2001 to 2006.
