Is there any way to distinguish visually between Webby and April/May/June, if only one duckling is pictured? I have two cool artifacts I found cheap on eBay: an Italian set of playing cards featuring HDL as Junior Woodchucks (if they're not drawn by Cavazzano, they're drawn by someone aping Cavazzano), where the queen cards feature a single girl duck, and a Czechoslovakian ceramic mug featuring a girl duck playing tea party with a reluctant Huey. In both cases, I wonder whether the artist had Webby or AMJ in mind. Obviously either one would have eyelashes (the cartoon marker of feminine gender) and a big bow. You can't go by whether she's wearing heels, because in some European AMJ comics the artist has thankfully ditched the unfortunate Barksian shoes. In the Dutch stories with the new-design, differentiated AMJ, of course; but I also have a couple of stories with the old, identical, bow-wearing AMJ illustrated by Millet Lopez where they have bare feet like the boys.

Ah, thank you. I see what you mean about the hairband. I observe, though, that Daisy is sometimes depicted with the hairband (or at least a ribbon going around her head, holding the bow on)--e.g. in the Rota-illustrated story "The Aquanaut." Can others confirm this distinction? Do AMJ never have a hairband? Does Webby always have one? In that case, my Czech mug depicts Webby, while the playing card queens are more likely AMJ. The person selling the mug described the girl duckling as Daisy, so s/he clearly didn't know who it was supposed to be.
