Topic: My Pete family tree

Quote from user: sirtaoJust for reference:
Pete's Italian surname, Gambadilegno, literally means "WoodLeg", which is the base for his relatives' names:
Gambadistagno->"TinLeg"
Piede-di-porco->Crowbar(literally "PigFoot")

Sounds interesting! When I include Gambadistagno in the tree, I'll call him Tinleg (which also fits well with Gram-Gram Peg-Leg), and I'll give Piede-di-porco the name Crowbar.
Quote from user: Greek_UserBut even if I could, I would only know the greek translation of the character's name, not the original one. :)
Why, of course! I hadn't realized that. Thanks for the information anyway; it's very helpful for when I make an explanatory table of characters. I'll just include Pete's aunt in the tree and see if I can get a scan somewhere else.

Quote from user: ScroogerelloThanks again! Do you know in which comic/cartoon he appeared? And where was it mentioned that he's Pete's great-grandpa?
In the episode of "Goof Troop" (1992) "Gunfight At The Oakie-Doke Corral", appears a gangster, Pecos Pete, who fights with an ancestor of Goofy. He could be Pete's great-grandpa! And Pistol Pete appears in the cartoon "Two Gun Goofy" (1952).

Most of these stories were printed relatively recently. Does anybody happen to have one of the issues in which they appear? Thanks in advance!! :)

And So. I rummaged my comics and found the last two stories in my "Topolino" volumes.

Scroogerello, take the pictures!

Scroogerello, you're a lucky boy! I just found the Pete tree I did back in 2010 and I found some relatives you missed. Three of them are in the previous comment by Mickey tho. Gonna share names and details with you asap.

Are you sure that Scroogerello is a "boy"?
Sirtao
For reference:
Gambone->Big Leg. "Al Gambone" is an obvious pun on "Al Capone"
Assunta->normal Italian female name, more common in south Italy. Note she is dressed like Sicilian old woman, and Al Gambone speaks with a Sicilian accent.
Since I seem to remember their nationality was stated as Italian in the comic they appear, I guess one could simply keep their original names
Scroogerello
Thanks so much for the scans, Mickey! I'll include them in tree right away!

Very interesting! Was your tree a text-only version?
I'm finding it rather difficult to find a suitable place for aunt Assunta on the tree. I mean, I want to include as little question marks in the tree as possible, but the only reasonable way to do this was to make her Maw Pete's sister and Gram-Gram Peg-Leg's daughter (Assunta is meant to be a cat like Pete and Al Gambone, right?). Where did you place Assunta on the tree, Sim?

"Scroogerello" sounds like a male name in Italian, I apologise if I'm wrong.

Yes, it was text-only because my scanner didn't work then (and so it doesn't), but I should have the most of those comics. I placed Assunta as Maw Pete's sister, assuming that part of the family coming from Italy. I also suggested the name "Bonfiglio" for them, since Pete was called "Pete Bonfiglio" once, but I think it was in a cartoon, so I don't know if we could consider it as a "canon". Anyway, she is the mother of Al Gambone.

Sirtao
On Assunta's surname: it's a normal surname, most common in Sicily. Technically, it literally means "Goodson"

«Il Grosso» is better translated as «The Big»

Stoneleg is Pete's (Great)^27 Grandfather.
More specifically, as tris-tris-tris, he's Pete's Great-Great-Grandfather of the Great-Great-Grandfather of Great-Great-Grandfather. So Pete is actually 27th Generation.

Thanks for the tree, Sim! Very interesting, once again. I've included the missing relatives (As a sidenote: I didn't include Trudy's unseen relatives, since they aren't really related to Pete in any way, and would only make the tree complicated in a rather useless way. I also think I'll make an extra 'ancestors-section' (just like I did when I constructed Magica De Spell's family tree) for all relatives from before the generation of Pete's grandparents).
Anyway, thanks a lot for all the information and scans, Mickey and Sim! You can see the updated tree below:

Thanks again, Mickey! I'm amazed that you were able to find a scan of her; the story in which she appeares seemed to be rather obscure to me.
Did you only have a scan of her head, or also one of a panel or so in which she appeared? The scan has a very good quality, but it may be easier to adjust the image to fit the tree if i had a scan that showed the character's shoulders, etc. to really form a 'portrait' out of the scan (if you don't have such a scan, that's fine, of course--I'm really glad you provided me with a scan anyway!).

Well?

Those female relatives of Pete, that all look just like him, except that they wear lipstick, and have long hair (like Pete wearing a wig) are extremely funny-looking.

Maybe if I write a Mickey/Pete story some day, I'll employ a mistaking of Pete in his female disguise (wig, lipstick and dress), for one of his aunts. Then, the real aunt comes into the story, and there is confusion of the two several times, both by "the good guys"mickey/Goofy/police, and also by Pete's family. In the final scene, The police don't take Pete off tom jail. They figure that he's getting enough punishment by his aunt's constant stabbing of him with her umbrella from one hand, and the constant clubbing of him with her purse (from her other hand), while she chases him, chastising him for "ruining her name" by making everyone think she is an incompetent, petty criminal. Should be a fun story to write and draw.
