Looking for an ID to the military unit emblem design of a winged frog on a round background , shown in the Disney Comics & Stories issue Nov 1943 , bottom left of page , also ID and possibly image of the Bear on cloud with parachute ready to drop bomb !

By ID, do you mean who used the insignia? It says "1st Airdrome Squadron" and "393rd Bombardment Group" under the images.

ps. Although Pete was a bear in the earliest Disney shorts, he is a cat in this image :)

The chapter on insignas in David Lesjak's Service With Character: The Disney Studios & World War II does not list that flying-frog insignia, nor is there any mention of the 1st Airdrome Squadron. That squadron was redesignated the 460th Fighter Squadron in 1944 but no Disney insignia is listed for that name either. Unfortunately, that "frog in flight" insignia is not pictured. At least I couldn't find it. That site has several other pages of logos and insignias in addition to the two linked above. Here is a United States Naval Institute story about the Disney insignas:

I finally found where I stashed my copy of the 1992 Walton Rawls book Disney Dons Dogtags: The Best Of Disney Military Insignia From World War II, which contains a brief history and dozens of color photos. The "frog in flight" insignia is not pictured or even mentioned. Rawls noted that the book includes only "the best" of the 1200 insignias created by the Walt Disney Studio artists. Their drawings were used not only for patches but also appeared on stationery, posters and matchbook covers. Somebody somewhere has to have more information about that frog insignia. Help!
