Hello all!
I tried to search this but couldn't find any discussion about this.
I have a faint recollection that someone somewhere counted all the visible coins (as far as it is possible) that Barks drew on his famous splash panel, where the money dam bursts. (Only a Poor Old Man, OS 386)
How much coins there were, or am I just imagining over here?
Best Wishes
Timo

There are at least three cubic acres of Money. How many coins exactly is unknown. Believe me you would probably get a headache if you try to count all of Scrooge's Money. I have Only A Poor Old Man in Uncle Scrooge Adventures #33.

Well the question was "only" those visible ones at that panel.
I found the answer: some Finnish donaldist (I guess) counted years ago that Barks drew 3387 coins on that one panel!

That's a high number. Did Mr. Barks drew it himself? I once read an article stating, that his wife drew many backgrounds - especially the coins of Scrooge.

Can't be sure. Barks married Margaret "Gare" Williams in 1954 and this story was created in 1951 - published early 1952.
