Unless Disney TV does something smart (and they won't), like airing a DuckTales "Best Of" marathon (which might be interesting) to promote the new game on either Disney XD or the regular Disney Channel (which they won't because that might actually show some support for family material, rather than children's television), it's unlikely that they'd air it (because Disney's TV department has never done the smart thing, even once, ever).
I think the Youtube episodes of DuckTales were originally just pirated versions. I never saw them on any official channel. But it's possible that they might do it if they were promoting DVDs (but they wouldn't do that, because their TV DVDs are fucking awful).
I love Disney but I hate how difficult it is for me to want to give them money because they think children are the market, not families. The Hub does a better job than that with My Little Pony, but Disney has more resources and experience.
Argh.

Unfortunately, it seems that DuckTales finds itself in an odd limbo because long-time Barks fans often dismiss the show from deviating from Carl's stories so much, and judging from the reaction to the new game, for some fans DuckTales begins and ends with the old Capcom NES games. I think all the Disney Afternoon shows seem to have more of a small following now compared to when they first came out. After viewing episodes of Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck and TaleSpin, they are all very well-done shows, but without the attachment to these characters that I have for Barks' ducks, I just can't get as caught up in them. Although my step-children (13 and 20) both liked DarkWing Duck very much.

I was originally thinking that Disney did the "clean sweep" of the YT vids because they were planning some sort of DT "video event" to coincide with the game release. I saw several YT channels where DT was the ONLY thing removed and other Disney material was left untouched. I guess I should have known better than to have thought that there was some kind of grand scheme behind it all!

That doesn't surprise me actually. To this day people don't know who I'm talking about if I say Carl Barks or Floyd Gottfredson are some of my favorite comic artists...I also knew people who liked Peanuts but didn't know who Charles M. Schulz was (that really seemed impossible to me at first!). Even during the Gladstone comics first run, people didn't know who I was drawing when I drew Scrooge. Someone once asked if he was Donald's Grandpa!

I don't mean to sound dismissive of DuckTales...honestly, I enjoy the series very much...it's one of the few Disney TV series I revisit frequently (the others I mentioned were purchased to see if maybe I'd like them as much).

I also stumbled upon the Duck Tales sometime back but I think maybe because some copyright issue they were removed from Youtube. I am sure you can find them on DVD.

I hope that the upcoming (and very kick-ass) game will remind people how cool the show was so they mayble will try to do something new with Scrooge and the boys...
