In Italy they have published now a wonderful book which contains all of the 12 Donald Duck stories written and drawn by William Ward for British Mickey Mouse Weekly between 1937-1940. It was the first time (even before Federico Pedrocchi´s Donald) that Donald was the (main) character of a long Disney Adventure. In these stories Donald is accompanied by an authentic friend, Mac the sailor. Most of their adventures are really exciting and they present Donald as a very strong character (who once even tries to murder an adversary). I hope that they will be republished once also in English and other languages. They would deserve a greater audience!

Yes! I would love to read them. I hope they print them in English or Dutch. Is the Italian book hard bound or soft? Roughly how much does it cost in Euros? is it still available?

Hi! I am one of the curators and the "translation coordinator" of the volume "Paperino - Le inedite follie inglesi". I make out worst in translation from Italian to English, so I'm very sorry for my bad English. This volume will be available to not-enrolled to Anafi the next year (I think the price should be circa EUR 25,00). To enroll yourselves to Anafi (Associazione Nazionale Amici del Fumetto) costs EUR 110,00 for foreign countries (in case you can do it through the official site of Anafi - Associazione Nazione Amici del Fumetto).
Anyhow, I am very gleeful for this volume. It's a unicum, I wish it's the first step for a spread of William Ward's Donald Duck stories in the rest of the world, i.e. Denmark, Germany, Holland and United States.
I like you are interested in this beautiful (soft-cover) book!

Dear Federico, you have done a really wonderful work! The adventures of Donald and Mac are really exciting. And you donated to the audience also a marvellous cover, very interesting background description etc. Thank you for the contribution to Disney history!

I realize you have the book already. Good!
Who has not this volume can give a look at its index in Inducks: http://coa.inducks.org/issue.php?c=it%2FPIFI++1
(the last story is a delicious rarity: a Basil Reynolds' gag-page from MMW 119 without story-code at the moment)
The Anafi obviously has got now in archive all the original Ward's pages: we taken the most of pages from a German collector. If someone wants to reprinted Ward's adventures in some other countries, to obtain a permission by the local Disney would be enough. I hope it will occur. We'd like to work on Pedrocchi's Donald Duck and Wilfrd Haughton's "Goofy's De(f)tective Agency", but it's too soon to consider it definite.

Detective Agency would be really great!, but also Pedrocchi´s Donald... I think that your volume is a "must" for every Disney-fan who speaks Italian (and the other should learn this language)!

ALL of those British and Italian long Disney stories never published in other countrie should be presented in high-quality books in English language.
