Only 5 covers? That's unfair for all the other beautiful drawn covers for Uncle Scrooge. I'll just do all covers I like.

Classic cover. One of those covers that is "just nice". Who used that expression earlier?
http://outducks.org/webusers/webusers/2006/05/us_os_0495_00_001.jpghttp://outducks.org/us/us/312/us_us_0312a_001.jpg
Also a classic. I like this one more, because there are no frowns this time. It's a feel-good cover. Just look at Uncle Scrooge there. So is the 312 version.
http://outducks.org/us/us/013/us_us_0013_00_001.jpghttp://outducks.org/us/us/019/us_us_0019_00_001.jpghttp://outducks.org/us/us/023/us_us_0023_00_001.jpghttp://outducks.org/us/us/024/us_us_0024_00_001.jpg
Just all great gags from this era.

I just like this one. But I guess I like the Gemstone coloring more. I notcied that coloring is maybe the most important thing on liking a cover? Just look at the difference between the two.
http://outducks.org/renamed/us/us/00040/us_us_0040_00_001.jpg
The next feel-good cover, 10 years after the last one.
http://outducks.org/us/us/042/us_us_0042_00_001.jpg
There's something about this cover, I don't know what. But I like it.
http://outducks.org/us/us/047/us_us_0047_00_001.jpg
And another feel-good cover. But this one actually has to do something with the story in the comic.
http://outducks.org/renamed/us/us/00049/us_us_0049_00_001.jpg
Ready to pick!
http://outducks.org/us/us/054/us_us_0054_00_001.jpg
Can it get any weirder?
http://outducks.org/us/us/055/us_us_0055_00_001.jpg
Junior Woodchucks to the rescue!
http://outducks.org/us/us/065/us_us_0065_00_001.jpg
It apperently can get any weirder! What's next? A robotic horse?
http://outducks.org/us/us/066/us_us_0066_00_001.jpg
Apperently so. This is beginning to look "Stranger Than Fiction".
http://outducks.org/us/us/069/us_us_0069_00_001.jpg
Sorry for the still growing amount of covers. I just love Barks' later artwork! Luckily, there isn't a favorite Walt Disney Comics and Stories cover thread...
http://outducks.org/us/us/211/us_us_0211a_001.jpg
And I welcome Gladstone. It's 1986, and 19 years have gone since last cover. We've gone all through the Gold Key and Whitman eras.
http://outducks.org/us/us/231/us_us_0231a_001.jpg
First Rosa cover on the list. This one looks so goldy!
http://outducks.org/us/us/233/us_us_0233a_001.jpg
Great cover, don't you think? Coincidentally, it was first (in Uncle Scrooge 11) in stores in late 1955, when one of my favorite movies takes place.
http://outducks.org/us/us/242/us_us_0242a_001.jpg
It's A Wacky, Wacky, Wacky, Wacky Race.
http://outducks.org/us/us/255/us_us_0255a_001.jpg
Once again, this shows us how important coloring is.
http://outducks.org/us/us/266/us_us_0266a_001.jpg
Just...COWABUNGA!
http://outducks.org/us/us/288/us_us_0288a_001.jpg
Go! To the pay dirt! Which won't pay for another 13 years, unfortunately...
http://outducks.org/us/us/289/us_us_0289a_001.jpg
What happened in the mean time? Scrooge is on the brink of losing... his helmet.
http://outducks.org/us/us/291/us_us_0291a_001.jpg
It it a bird? Is it an airplane? Man, I love that line. It's a big problem, at this time. It's the Dreamtime Duck of the Never-Never!
http://outducks.org/us/us/292/us_us_0292a_001.jpg
So there's the pay dirt from 4 months ago! Now Scrooge is on his to become...
http://outducks.org/us/us/294/us_us_0294a_001.jpg
...captured...
http://outducks.org/us/us/295/us_us_0295a_001.jpg
...captured...
http://outducks.org/us/us/296/us_us_0296a_001.jpg
...and he finally did get captured! That took Blackheart 45 years of his life! Not to mention, Scrooge got old and grumpy.
http://outducks.org/us/us/302/us_us_0302a_001.jpg
And rich, too. I forgot to mention. I like this version much more than the 1963 version.
http://outducks.org/us/us/308/us_us_0308a_001.jpg
There's feel-good cover no. 308. They're starting to become as common as Spluts and Mondays...
http://outducks.org/us/us/309/us_us_0309a_001.jpg
Probably the best piece of Barks artwork ever. Really, I like this one. If it were only the full version...
http://outducks.org/webusers/webusers/2005/05/us_us_0332a_001.jpghttp://outducks.org/webusers/webusers/2005/11/us_us_0347a_001.jpg
It's going to eat them! And then it's going to eat me! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Two more Rosa covers.
http://outducks.org/webusers/webusers/2010/08/us_us_0394a_001.jpg
There it is! The last cover! Although I may have overdone it a little. But well, we're here. And I already wiped out some 15 covers!

Interesting to see some of my personal favorites show up on a few other lists! No Barks covers on my list, because I am unmoved by the gag covers.
Here are my top five, sticking strictly to the rules:
U$ 268 Island in the Sky (Franzen/Mayer)--on Pmspg's list--I love the recognition that there's no "up" in space
U$ 317 adventurer Scrooge & tourist Mickey (Rosa)--on WB's list--I enjoy this one because it conveys Rosa's personal attitude towards the characters so amusingly
U$ 275 Christmas Cheers--on WB's list
U$ 362 Return to Plain Awful (Rosa)--even though there is a tiny glitch which disrupts the line of Dewey's forehead and his flagpole!
U$ 386, Cover A Viking ship in the rain, Scrooge & boys sheltering under shield (Fernando Guell)--I agree that BOOM has done some fine covers; the most recent 394 would make my list if not for placement of the logo "DuckTales", which keeps me from entering into the picture
(Re U$ 281, Rosa's Mouse Removal: are you all aware that the "37 m" on the chart, which is meant to look like it could mean "37 meters," actually refers to the 37 months of the Disney Company's comic-producing interregnum?)
However, with the exception of U$ 268 Island in the Sky, I have to say that almost all of my favorite Scrooge covers were on Uncle Scrooge Adventures. Here are my actual top five Uncle Scrooge covers:
U$ 268 Island in the Sky
U$A 27 G Lost Library (Rosa)--the coloring by Susan Daigle-Leach is key here; I've seen versions of this cover with other coloring and they don't work for me nearly as well
U$A 39 G Tralla La (Rosa)--again, Susan's coloring is part of why I like this so much
U$A 13 G 24-Carat Moon (Rosa)--on WB's list--I agree, the logo is great, and that was contributed by Russ Miller--my favorite "retro-look" cover
WDC 608 Scrooge a la Bear Moutain (Barks, colored by Susan Daigle-Leach)
Anybody want to start a thread for favorite Donald Duck covers? If you do, I hope you allow DDA and WDC, since only a couple of my favorite Donald covers were on DD comics. I could do a "top ten" DD/DDA/WDC covers featuring Donald, but I don't think I could possibly choose a top five!

p.s. Re U$ 13, nephews building castle with Scrooge's coins: I only saw this cover years *after* I had read "The Phantom of Notre Duck," so my reaction to it was: "But Scrooge would approve of the castle-building, and join right in!"

I would want to start a WDC thread. Other titles, you could start it yourself.
