Hello everyone.
I'm from Australia and I'm glad I found your forum, because I'm feeling a bit nostalgic for my old Disney comics collection I had in my younger days - both of which are long gone!
I can remember two Uncle Scrooge comics I used to have and I'd like to find them again, but I can't remember what they were called.
However, I can try to provide some info and see if anyone can help me.
The first I'd like to try to find is where Scrooge, Donald and the nephews go to (I think) Africa.
All I can remember about it is the nephews have, or find, some whistles or something when they are captured by some strange looking people.
I can remember them saying, 'They make all kinds of sounds' or something, and they blow on them and all sorts of animals come stampeding and break them out.
That's about it for that one.
The other is when they are in Alaska or something and at one stage they get swarmed by some sort of insects that they call 'no-seeums' or similar. I think it's got something to do with the Klondike or gold mining or something.
I know this is probably very vague, but if anyone can help me out with what these comics are, I'd love to know so I can track them down.

It doesn't take place in Africa, but with the detail of the whistles, you're likely thinking of "The Mines of King Solomon" with the first one, whereas the second, funnily enough, is almost certainly "Back to the Klondike."

The first story you're thinking of may be called SO FAR, AND NO SAFARI, originally published in Uncle Scrooge #61. Uncle Scrooge, Donald, and the nephews went to Africa and the nephews took their Junior Woodchuck calling whistles. Flintheart Glomgold made his third appearance in this story. Carl Barks later did an oil painting of the original cover called FAR OUT SAFARI that Another Rainbow made into a lithograph.

I have the Mines of King Solomon in Walt Disney Giant #2 Back to the Klondike in Uncle Scrooge Adventures #26 and Carl Barks' Greatest Duck Tales Stories #1 and So Far and No Safari in Uncle Scrooge Adventures #8.

As a fellow Aussie & Victorian, I thought I might just mention it. I don't want to give them away for peanuts and I hope I am not out of order for mentioning it here.
