Last night I was reading Gemstone's Walt Disney's Donald Duck Family The Daan Jippes Collection Volume I. These stories were written by Carl Barks and originally just drawn by him in rough pencil script. In this book the art has been very nicely finished in Carl's style by Daan Jippes. The first story is called DUCKMADE DISASTER and I spotted something on the top of it's 5th page that really made me laugh. A group of people are throwing eggs at Uncle Scrooge's money bin and the one on the far right is Carl Barks. His posture and a bunch of extra eggs in his other hand makes it even funnier.
I know the story the way Carl originally drew it is printed in Set VI in the black & white Another Rainbow Carl Barks Library which I don't have. I'm curious how it originally appeared. Daan Jippes tried to stay very true to Carl's rough drawings in these Junior Woodchuck stories but I'm wondering if having Carl Barks there with eggs was something he added himself or not. Anyone know?

Barks drew the caricature of himself, and Jippes inked it pretty much as Barks drew it.

Thanks a lot, Robb. I'd read the story before but I hadn't noticed that. When I spotted it last night it really cracked me up and then I became curious about it.
