Hey
I know Disney comics usually try to avoid religious stuff (even If I almost sure there was an "Adam and Eve parody" Italian story) but let's just imagine they are going to make a Disney version of the Nativity story...
Wich Disney characters would You cast as
- Mary
- Joseph
- Angle Gabriel
- Three kings (Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar)
- King Herod
- The Shepherds

In that case, at least the three kings should definitely be Huey, Dewey and Louie. Daisy and Donald should be Mary and Josef while perhaps Scrooge could be King Herod. And Perhaps Grandma Duck and Gus Goose could be the Shepherds. Not sure who would be the angel Gabriel but for some reason I imagine Gladstone Gander for that role, mainly because of his golden curly hair which angels is often portrayed to have - at least in most of renaissance paintings.

I'd say:
Minnie as Mary
Mickey as Joseph
Donald Duck as Gabriel
Huey, Dewey and Louie as the Three Kings
Pete as King Herod
Morty and Ferdie as the Shepherds (with Pluto as their sheepdog)

My pick would be more like Lars Jensen exept with Scrooge, Gladstone and Gus or Fethry as three kings/wise man and Goofy as a Shepherd (+ Pluto)
Glomgold would make a great King Herod as well...

I'm going to follow my own proclivities and do an all-Duckburg (or all-Duckworld) cast.
Joseph--Donald (who is, after all, used to the role of "foster father"!)
Mary--Daisy
baby Jesus--the baby from the Barks one-pager "Donald's Lullaby"
The part of Jesus' halo will be played by Helper, perched on the headboard of the manger/cradle.
Gabriel--Gladstone, because I agree with Quackberg about the curly golden hair, and because I want to hear him say, "Hail, Mary, you're in luck!" Alternatively, I can see Glittering Goldie in a sparkling outfit as the angel, too.
Elizabeth, Mary's much older relative, whom Mary goes to visit--Grandma Duck
shepherds--We all know Gus Goose would sleep through the angels' song-and-light-show. I vote for Panchito and Clara Cluck--because I want to see them together (not as a couple, necessarily--just in the same story). I think Bolivar would make a more believable sheepdog than the hounds (Pluto or Snozzie).
Herod--Azure Blue (who wants to be the unrivalled king)
three kings--the Bey of El Dagga, the King of Tangkor Wat, and Lah Deedah. If we want them all to be from "the East," Prince Char Ming could replace the Bey. Huey, Dewey and Louie can be their pageboys, one leading Hammy the Camel.
But if we want to go with magi-qua-wise ones rather than kings, I nominate Gyro, Penny Wise ("Flour Follies") and the High Lama of Tralla La (finally, a Don Rosa character!). They are all wise in the sense of having good values--not caring about money or fame, satisfied with what they have and who they are. (Penny is not wise in name only!)
The part of the Little Drummer Boy (that's an obnoxious American Christmas song, for those among you lucky enough not to know it!) can be played by Sonny Seagull.
By the way....another version of Disney Christmas casting happened on a set of Disney Christmas stamps from Anguilla, showing Christmas traditions in various parts of the world. In "Christmas in Sweden," Daisy is Lucia, with HDL as Star Boys. In "Christmas in Italy," Grandma Duck is Befana. In "Christmas in Germany," Goofy is the Weihnachtsmann (giving a Donald Duck toy to Morty or Ferdie!). In "Christmas in Holland," Gepetto is bishop Sinterklaas, in a rowboat rowed by Pinocchio (presumably sitting in for Zwarte Piet, in a racially neutral way--though I do think that having a wooden boy who wants to be a real boy acting the part of the former slave Piet is an interesting commentary!). In "Christmas in Spain," Ferdinand the Bull is caught eating the hay left in a shoe for the kings' camels.
