Marvel will start publishing a few new series in the next months! Unfortunately, most of them are kids stuff, but it's a start, anyway! :D

Muppets - The Four Seasons

Quote:Last year BOOM! Studios' licenses for the various Disney properties expired, and one of the casualties of that was a four-issue Muppets arc by Roger Langridge that had not been printed yet. "As far as I understand it, the unpublished work I??ve done for Boom isn??t technically Disney??s until it??s published, and obviously Boom can??t publish it without a license," Langridge said at the time. "So it??s in a kind of limbo right now. In the best of all possible worlds, I??d like to think that Boom and Marvel can come to some kind of arrangement whereby Marvel can eventually release the work."

Apparently some sort of arrangement has been reached, as Marvel has solicited the first issue of a four-issue Muppets miniseries for July, featuring that "lost" story by Langridge. Here??s the solicitation:

MUPPETS #1 (of 4)

Do they have any plans to bring back the Classic Disney Comics Characters or the former Disney Afternoon Titles?
Harazahn
I am glad that the Muppets issues are finally coming out. Hopefully it is a sign for the older series to be picked up, but there is no official word on that yet.
Roger North
Me Too Harazahn but you never know what the future will bring. I didn't think Boom Studios would bring back Darkwing Duck or Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers or Duck Tales but they did anyway. I think anything is possible at this point.

I don't know, unfortunately. :(

Personally, I hope that Marvel will start publishing the classic Disney publications, such as Uncle Scrooge & Walt Disney's Comics and Stories. :) But I agree; the whole situation is in flux this moment.
Roger North
That is true. I actually liked Uncle Scrooge and Walt Disney's Comics and Stories. They were such cool comic books. I especially like the Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge stories by Carl Barks, Don Rosa, and William Van Horn.
Debbie
I think that to most publishers, Mickey Mouse, Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck tend o skew toward an older readership than Marvel's Disney titles seem to be aiming for. That's probably how Fantagraphics landed the Barks and Gottfredson material. (Just a guess on my part...not trying to start an argument.)
Roger North
Maybe the classic Disney Characters will be published by Fantagraphics. It would be nice if they could publish regular comic book series in case Marvel doesn't want to publish them.
Andrea
What about the planned release of the comic book for Disney Epic Mickey 2 - The Power of Two?
Anybody knows anything?

I still haven't heard anything about the more classic Disney titles. Is there no hope for them?
