I seriously cannot tell whether or to what extent those are supposed to be ironic, but I really hate them regardless.

These are beyond hideous. It's as if Daisy and Minnie were stretched on the same rack that the shrunken Mike Teevee was in CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY (novel version).
The HOUSE OF MOUSE Daisy with the windsock hair is a veritable supermodel compared to these Skeezix wannabes.

Gah! My eyes. Kill it with fire!
Honestly, I was never a fan of overly thin figures and applying it to Disney characters made it even worse. Also, the only outfit that doesn't look terrible is Daisy's; Minnie's looks awful.
I do have to say, the colouring is nice. I really like those purple tones.

I heard from someone at work today that there has been public controversy recently about this campaign (which is reassuring!). If you google "Barney's Disney campaign" you can find news on this. (It is, of course, being called the "skinny Minnie" campaign.) Change.org has an online petition against it, which has been signed by over 130K people, including Abigail Disney.

I've seen them on some webpage. I had no idea what they were thinking.

Here's the short film related to these statuettes. It at least explains how our friends got to look that way...

So this is the actuall short...
What can I say? Well, it's short and cute... Not much of a plot or message, just a "little girl fantasy" of wanting to become a model...
It's funny how those anorectic character desings people complain about appear only for few seconds and are less abstract and creepy then those we seen above. Still all the real life cameos makes the whole thing a bit bizzare.
