I Don't Recall seeing one so I decided to make one.

There has been a few games that have been Disney Afternoon inspired, or just Disney in general, and was wondering which one's you guys have played. Below is a list of mine, or at least have some kind of impression of them, and what I thought of them

Duck Tales
I have this for both the Gameboy which I've played and the NES which I have but my NES hasn't been hooked up since I got it (I bought it on the same day as I got my Harvest Moon game for the SNES; it was a pretty good day.)
As one would expect from the NES era, it was a platform game, and a pretty good one. Unfortunately from lack of practice this days, I am pretty bad a platform games and I remember having Scrooge committing suicide many, many times by having him jump off a cliff to try to get this stupid vine in the middle of it. Damn it Capcom, make it Nintendo hard why don't you?

The point of this game is to get Scrooge across the worlds to get as much money as possible, with three endings at the end (I have yet to see any of them, but getting Scrooge to be broke at the end is stupidly hard I've heard). The graphics are what you expect but still pretty good. For some reason Scrooge is in his red coat, but his cane gained some awesome points by being used as a Pogo stick to kill enemies (if you just jump on them without it, you die). The music is pretty awesome though You also get occasional features of other Duck Tales characters, at least once one of the Nephews gets lost/kidnapped, but when you find him, he doesn't show much concern. Power ups by the way is for some reason ice cream. The only explanation for this is the tantrum he had over "A sea monster ate my ice cream" in duck tales.

By the way, there is a strange glitch that I found out about in this game where if you go to the Transylvania mine cart and stand half way in it and wait for the time to run out, Scrooge's head get's chopped in half. Of course, this is just a glitch, so it's not as mind scarring as it sounds. I haven't been able to find this cart yet though, so I can't confirm it; I always run into Magica by accident first. Or die.
There is a Sequel to this game as well ,but I've never played it yet

TaleSpin
Another Disney game for the NES. I've played it before, but I don't remember what you do in this game. I remember it making me mad though.

Kingdom Hearts
I'm sure almost all of us had heard of this game before. I've played the first one and about three quarters done the second one, and it's a really fun game in my opinion. It has beautiful graphics and gameplay as you would expect from SquareEnix and made a pretty crazy idea work. Though... man does Donald and Goofy use up a lot of potions. I gave them potions in the beginning and set them to emergency but according to Goofy EVERYTHING is an emergency so I stopped giving them to him. I would go into a fight, Donald would waste his magic on the most pointless things around (in the second one, he uses up most of his magic on bees screaming I got it! I'm sure you do, Donald...)Donald and then Goofy get beat up by the heartless, Goofy then Donald would use potions like no tomorrow and then they die. I was concerned the first time because I didn't have any phoenix downs but then I found out it didn't matter because they come back to life again, so usually and just leave them until the come back. Donald learning cure as the best thing that could have ever happened. Kingdom Heart 2 improved on the potion wasting though.

Also, sometimes I would be trying to do something and Nimrod and Moron would be charging off somewhere, which is usually good, but I found myself wishing that I had leashes or tasers or something for them. 99% of time I loved the fact that they would both follow you around, but occasionally they, especially Goofy would get in the way, making me miss my jump, and I had to look at his face every time went into POV mode so many times that I just threw barrels at him a couple of times or pushed in off the ledge to get him out of my way.

And then there is the terrible Gummi Ship of the original kingdom hearts. Oh dear GAWD that was that awful. It made it such a hassle to go back to traverse town. It was so ugly and bad it felt like it was a last minute addition done by a completely different programmer. Along with Donald learning cure, warp speed was the other great invention in that game. They improved it alot in the second one though.

Scrooge is something that I must discuss though. It seems like they tone him down in each adaptation of him. I was pretty excited to hear that he was in the second one, but when I found him, I found him wandering around aimlessly. After a cut scene where Donald talks about him two feet away but Scrooge does not react to it at all. he finally turns around and acts very cheerful with everyone. What's up with that? He then whines about his ice cream tasting terrible, which he continues to for a good portion of them game. What with Scrooge in games and ice cream? The fact that he's a rich penny pitcher is completely overshadowed by the fact that his ice cream ain't what it used to be. Why, even in the skatingboard minigame, he doesn't even charge you. And why oh why Scrooge are you so brain dead as to put giant ice cubes outside the freezer?!

Well at least he's in the games. They also messed up with the only character from my favourite Final Fantasy game, Vivi. Why on Earth doesn't a black mage use magic?

Anyway, the point is even though I complained about the game a lot, it is a really good game. Nice controls, pretty straight forward battle system and special abilities menu, prenty of worlds to explore, it goes on and on. I also love Donald in this one, with plenty of humour in the cut scenes, though his voice tends to ruin every dramatic scene.

As for my last game, it is one that I own, but never played yet. I mentioned it before somewhere else, and it's called PK our of the Shadows for the PS2. Does anyone know if it's good? Here's what the cover looks like http://www.ebay.com/itm/PK-Out-Shadows-Playstation-2-Complete-Game-PS2-E-/400087833127

Donald Duck : Going Quackers was incredebly enjoyable game. I had the PC version... The way you control Donald was prety fun (from what I recall If you get hit twice Donald would get super angry and turn into a cartoonish cloud of chaos that would destroy every thing in his way) and it had plenty of great little touches.
My favorite levels where the bonus levels where something would chase you and you have to run. What was so chalanging about those levels is the fact you only seen Donald from the front so you only had second to react to any danger in front of you. Heck! One level even had the Indiana Jones style bolder...

Whats SUPER INTERESTING is the fact the game was dedicated to... CARL BARKS (it was made same year he pass away) and game uses characters like Magica De Spell, the Beagle Boys (as bosses) as well Gyro, Gladstone, Little Helper and one level takes place in Duckburg (I would say it's odd theres no refrence to Scrooge but In a way it was refreshing for them to use characters like Magica without Scrooge around) Plus it also had return by Merlock from the DuckTale movies as the last boss... even If I have to admit he was a very easy boss to deffit from what I recall. Magica and the Beagle Boy where more chalanging...

I think it's the only time you get to see Donald and Gladstone interact in animated version (even if I hate Gladstone voice, "DuckTales" version was much more proper for him) :

Absolutely love the game. In my country, it was called Donald Duck Quack Attack. I bought the PS2 version later, but it's very different and more difficult and I don't like it. And Magica was the most difficult boss. All that running and jumping and those pesky pumpkins... die, pumpkins!

I remember playing a Donald side-scroller for the Game Gear. You would hit enemies with a hammer. It was fun, as I recall.

There was a platformer for the Sega Genesis starring Donald Duck called Quack Shot. You got to play as Donald searching for treasure and used a gun with a plunger or other accessories. It was a lot of fun and included an appearance of Scrooge.

I have a (still not complete) list of Disney games right here:

There's also "Mickey's Magical Quest" which is a Trilogy Game.

I have fond memories of 'Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse' for the Sega Genesis. It's a really fun game with lots of charm.

Also great is the Magical Quest series: 'Disney's Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse', 'Disney's Magical Quest 2 starring Mickey & Minnie', and 'Disney's Magical Quest 3 starring Mickey & Donald'. I played these again recently, and man, they are tough platformers! Either that or my reflexes aren't what they used to be. (I'm sure that's it)
'Mickey Mania: The Timeless Adventures of Mickey Mouse' This one is a must if you're a fan of Mickey's animated shorts. Each level is inspired by a different Mickey classic cartoon.
Last on the list is 'Epic Mickey'. As much as I want to like this game, I just can't get past the bad camera and game controls. I'm hoping they addressed the problems in the upcoming sequel.

I'd love to see Disney let Warren Spector do the Ducktales game he wants to do.

Going Quackers, I think I've heard of that gave before! Either way it sounds interesting. I've heard that it is also on the Nintendo 64 (wow this game seem to traveled to a lot of different systems!), do you know if it follows the PC version or the PS2 version? Either way I should keep an eye out for it.

Ah, shame I don't have a genesis myself. There is actually quite a few games on it that should pretty interesting. I should perhaps put it on my things to look out for list.

Oh, I have heard about this! I've never played epic Mickey myself because I don't really like Mickey, but I've heard a lot of good things about this game, and getting to see a duck version of the game would be awesome! I didn't know it would be DuckTales specific though. Either way, I wish it would happen.

Spector did the very popular Ducktales game in the late 80's and had involvement in BOOM Studio's somewhat mixed bag comic title of the same name a few years back.
Needless to say he's a fan. Unfortunately, Disney seems to be at a complete loss as to what to make of their popular tv series from the 80s and 90s.

No, Spector did not work on the Ducktales game...It was made by Capcom, and I believe the staff was mostly japanese.

He only said he'd really like to make one, ever since Disney accepted for him to make Epic Mickey. And yes, he did work on the Boom! Ducktales title. (although I suspect he didn't much contribute to it)
And I agree about that last statement, except it's the same for all the Disney Afternoon series, Disney just doesn't realize their potential!
MustangRockstar
My bad. I had it in my head he did the orig Ducktales as well.
I'm not going to lie, Epic Mickey was a great concept but a flawed execution.
Part of me wonder how it would've done on a system other than Wii. We will see how part 2 goes.

I also have the PS2 PK Game as well (The Game where Donald Duck is a superhero).
How good is that game? If it's bad...I'll send a request to the Angry Video Game Nerd!

It's not bad, but it suffers from bad controls.
