Topic: Boom trade paperbacks at INDUCKS

I'm missing a few Boom trade paperbacks at INDUCKS: the issues #4 and #5 of Darkwing Duck and "Uncle Scrooge Around the World in 80 Bucks". Is anyone working on that?
Roger North
I don't know why they aren't on the INDUCKS Website. I noticed that Duck Tales in Rightful Owners isn't on there either or any of the Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers TPBs.

No one has sent in indexes of the issues. Feel free to do so.

I will do so for the Darkwing Duck TPBs on the weekend.
How do I add the Uncle Scrooge TPB? It's a standalone book and no new issue to an existing series.

I also note that it's very difficult to get anyone to add covers to issues without them, even when the issues are otherwise complete.

Just pretend that it's issue #999 of Uncle Scrooge, and we'll take care of it.

Could you reformulate? I don't understand.

At least when I was indexing things, there was no way to add covers that aren't already in the database--an administrator had to make me a specialized upload tool for those Disney Literature Classics I added. I understand the potential vandalism issues, but it does seem a little dysfunctional.
Cacou
Yes, actually that is not an issue with vandalism but with the fact that our master indexes are plain text files, that can be edited with any text editor.
It is a very old-fashioned system but it is practical for many indexers who are able to use their prefered editors to edit indexes.

One drawback is that keys (storycodes/issuecodes) have to be manually maintained. Since scans have to be linked with indexes using those keys, adding the scan of an item that is not indexed requires editing the master index first, which in turn should be done by an "official" indexer. As a paliatif I add empty cover items to the remaining unindexed French comics so anyone could upload comics, but this is not done everywhere.

I don't know if the above makes sense, but unfortunately, as always things are not as simple as we would like them to be. We would need to revisit a lot of things to simply try to make it better, and currently have not enough man-programming-power for this.
Of course there is still the solution of contacting us through "COAzilla" when you encounter any trouble. This should always work!

Fantagraphics' 2nd Carl Barks book is also missing in INDUCKS. Perhaps someone has the book and time for indexing.
Roger North
I hope so.

I sent the index to COAzilla last week Thursday.
Roger North
You did?

Thank you! It is now visible at INDUCKS: http://coa.inducks.org/issue.php?c=us/CBDL+++2
But it's in the wrong series. I just sent an error message to the INDUCKS team.
