FORTUNE FAVORS THE BOLD
Flapping into the top slot on this year's list is the first non-mammal to rank as fiction's richest: Scrooge McDuck. Soaring gold prices mean the penny-pinching poultry's hoard of coins and bullion is now worth more than you can shake a tail feather at.

He was supposed to be the richest ALL the time. I don't know how the Forbes people decide he has only 28 Billion Dollars. Barks already told us he has over umptillion Dollars. That number has many, many, many more zeros than billions. We all know that Scrooge has more than a third of The Earth and The Earth's Solar System's wealth. Flintheart Glomgold has maybe 5-10% short of that. So how could Daddy Warbucks and some of the others even come near those 2? What is the point of Forbes making comparisons, if they are going to ignore the authors' accounts and change them to suit their own bogus analysis?

Exactly. They are obviously more or less ignorant of the Scrooge story. They can get away with it because the Forbes audience/readership is also by and large ignorant of Scrooge's life and history ala Barks/Rosa.

According to Forbes 2012 list,...
Scrooge has lost all his money to Glomgold.
I wonder what story he has read...

The Forbes Glomgold "biography" doesn't exactly match any story we know, but I can forgive the author for obviously having some fun. The text includes mentions of Brutopia and the "Number One Rand," and the events described also bring some non-Glomgold stories to mind (Rockerduck's "Around the World in 80 Daze"; the McSwine/Magica "Hunt for White December").

Of cause. I don't think Bill Gates can beat this:
