Since Don Rosa has retired and many others have passed on like Vicar and Don Markstein...who will be the new person to create adventures for Donald and his friends?

I don't know. We'll soon find out if there is a new publisher for Disney Comics.

There are a LOT of us still working on that. I've got some stories coming up with some new Duck Family members and some new villains, too.

Because I'm not allowed to publicly preview stories before they are printed.

You can't tell the name of the new relatives?
I can't finish the tree without them! ;)

After Barks retired, the Disney-comics started to decline. There simply wasn't anyone who could create comics with the Ducks that matched the quality of the comics by Barks. Then, in the second hald of the 80s, after Don Rosa created "The Son of the Sun", a new era started. Withouth the question, it was the best long adventure Duck-comic since the retirement of Barks. There were many others as well (like Rota and van Horn) who made great stories through the 90s and after that.
I believe it is crucial for the success of the European Disney comic weeklies that they continue to release new quality 4-tier adventure comics. Frankly, they have hardly released any since the reirement of Rosa. I see that Egmont is trying to create good adventue comics with Scandinavian artists (various writers + Arild Midthun) but I think they are "too Scandinavian". They just don't have a good grasp on the characters like Scrooge and Donald.
I wish there was anyone as enthusiastic as Don Rosa...

I don't think a new American Publisher would start to hire writers and artists. They would just release the stuff published by Egmont.

Sorry, I cannot. The name of the new Duck family member would give away the secret and essence of his/her debut story.

1) I don't think I will ever be able to read the story since in Italy foreign stories aren't published and Boom doesn't publish Disney comics anymore (excepting DT obviously).
2) I'm really curious about, but it seems to me a way to "sell more issues". As somebody used to tell: " when you have no idea for new stories and your business is going down and down, you introduce new character such as brothers (Rumpus), children (Phantom Blot's daughter) and so long...".
That is only an opinion obviously. ;) I'm sorry I won't be able to add him/her in my tree and I really hope he/she isn't an essential character (parent, sibling, etc...).
By the way, I will certainly satisfied when he/she will come out!

I hate to break this to you Sim but Boom doesn't even publish Duck Tales comic books anymore. They lost their license five months ago.

So that's why Barks introduced Donald Duck's uncle Scrooge!

Many Arild Midthun stories are specifically created to appeal to Norwegian readers, so it's understandable that they feel "Scandinavian" to you.

It's not the first time I've seen that comment from DCF posters, and I'm disappointed it's so easy for people to casually dismiss the hard work of me and my colleagues. I'm currently working on a new TNT story. So far I've spent a total of 1½ month on it -- researching, writing, rewriting, researching again and then re-rewriting -- and last night I stayed up until 4 in the morning to complete the first draft. I've contacted a number of Egmont employees as well as my former co-writer and editor David Gerstein to make sure the story ends up as good as possible. I expect to spend at least another 1½ week scripting, polishing and digging up art references.
Everyone, please give me a serious answer: in which way can I possibly do more to demonstrate that I'm "as enthusiastic as Don Rosa"?
(And of course none of this is meant as a criticism of Don Rosa, in any way, shape or form. I'm just disappointed by the assumption that other creators are not as dedicated to doing high-quality comics.)

I wouldn't want to be misunderstood. That sentence isn't mine and I personally like Rumpus and I am also really interested in this new character. Is it a creation of your, Robert?

I'm afraid so but hopefully a new company will publish Disney Comics again.
