Hello, I've probably read The Strange Shipwrecks a hundred times and one thing has always bothered me.
Would anyone know what Carl Barks meant by "pepper" and "fissionable material" when Uncle Scrooge and Louie are fighting the Beagle Boys in the lighthouse?

My first thought was by saying that the pepper was a "fissionable material" he meant it was a metaphor by being a "effective/powerful" weapon similar to nuclear fission in that situation. But I'm not sure if that's what he meant.

I have that story in Uncle Scrooge #280 and I didn't notice anything about pepper being a fissionable material but I will read it again just to be sure.

Well, they're clearly in a jam, so Louie makes use of pepper to split up the fight and create an opening to escape from it.

It's in the dialogue in panel 11.6.
