Is there a set of complete Barks' work published anywhere? If so please provide links to order.
Thanks!

You can try to get the B/W collection: http://www.brucehamilton.com/AR/Books/CBL/CBLmain.htm
This shop seems to have one complete set: http://www.jlcomicart.de/BarksComics.htm

Or you wait for the complete collection by Fantagraphics (that will take until 2025 for all books):
Vol. 1: http://www.amazon.com/Walt-Disneys-Donald-Duck-Complete/dp/1606994743/
Vol. 2: http://www.amazon.com/Walt-Disneys-Uncle-Scrooge-Complete/dp/1606995359/

Thanks a lot. At those prices I'll just wait and buy the two Fantagraphics per year until 2025 :D

The Fantagraphic first issue is really great. I sure hope they continue to keep up this high standard and I plan on getting them all as they come out. While you're waiting you can always pick up additional comics or albums as well.

I find it kind of nice to have the stories in different forms though I try not to duplicate the stories too many times. I have a little bit of everything and then I can just grab something to fit my reading mood. Sometimes it's fun to see a story the way it first came out in a comic, once in a while in black and white in my only Barks Library set, and sometimes larger than a comic in color in an album. We're lucky these days we have so many choices in how we can view Carl's stories.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news...
Well, I guess it depends on how you look at it. If you all care about is just Carl's comic book work then this is the set for you. If you want some other special stuff, (well just read below).
I emailed Gary Groth the other day about the Barks set.
Beyond just the articles there won't be any special features. No sketches, paintings, pencil drawings, model sheets etc. I didn't ask why & no reason was given as to why some of the other special features won't be included.
I'm a little bit disappointed as I was hoping this set would be a great substitute for people who can't afford/or didn't get a chance to get the AR set, (I was under 10 when it came out).

Hopefully they'll change their minds as time goes. Terrible news. Compared to The Gottfredson Library's excellent extras, it feels like Barks got the short end of the stick.
Mind you, I can understand doing this to appeal to a larger audience who isn't interested in the stuff, but if there are going to be 30 volumes total, surely that's more than enough to fit extra bonus material here and there? The project has a world's worth of potential and it's going to be Plain Awful if Fantagraphics doesn't take full advantage of it and sticks to the basics.
If their decision is set in stone, the only chance I see is that the volumes do well enough sales-wise to merit releasing a larger volume, dedicated exclusively to bonus material, once the project is complete. But right now not even Barks' script-only stories are a sure thing...

I wonder if any of this has to do with paying royalties. Even though Barks didn't get any royalties off his old comic work when AR first reprinted the set in 83'-90' I think he did earn quite a bit from all the special artwork and sketches, paintings etc. that first saw publication in those books. I saw the figures published on a foreign CB website a few months ago.
I imagine it would be a lot more complex since Barks & Gare have passed, then there's Barks kids - whom I'm not sure if they were very close or not.
Anyway, I hope Fantagraphics reconsiders or at least explains why they can't or won't do special features beyond articles.

This sounds like complaining but I really applaud Fantagraphics willingness and great job in wanting to distribute CB's stuff out there in a way that a mass general audience can find & discover it easily, (beyond the limited confines of comic shops or mail order to collectors). Even American MTV covered this series! I was shocked by that one!

I'll be getting most of the volumes as I really like how the stories look and it sounds like a lot of the stories will be reprinted in an unaltered form for the first time since their original publication ie, 'Voodoo Hoodoo' & 'In Darkest Africa' etc.

At the end of the day, these volumes are giving me the opportunity to own Barks' stories for the first time since I was a kid (and even then it was just one book with others artists' work mixed in), in a beautiful format and presentation, and for which I am infinitely thankful and appreciative of Fantagraphics' work...God knows how euforic I was once I unwrapped the first volume, delivered by Amazon! I still really hope they change their mind about no bonus features, but yes, I want to clarify my posture in case it sounded too negative.
