I had the pleasure of meeting Don Rosa at MegaCon today! The last time I saw him was in 2001 at a comic convention in Luxembourg, so it was really nice to see him again after all these years. I also had a lot more time to talk, which isn't usually an option at European conventions when there are huge lines. My wife and I got there early and it wasn't very busy at that time, so we had Mr Rosa all to ourselves. ;) He was extremely nice, as always, and it was great talking with him for a while. He was also kind enough to draw Scrooge for me, as you can see below.
Don Rosa will still be at MegaCon this weekend (18 and 19 February 2012), so go see him if you're in the area!

Wow! What a great experience. Too bad I don't live in Florida.

I do but not in Luxemburg.

What's the thing with these Action Comics, Adventure Comics and other titles with Disney characters on the wall behind? Are they parody covers (by Rosa? -- too small for me to see the drawing style really well) on the superhero titles?

I think those covers are for fan based comic books that aren't officially published.

The covers are just Rosa's personal homage/parody work. See links provided by Arild!

I have...an unseemly number of those things, signed and framed. They're pretty fantastic. I especially like the Crime Suspenstories parody with Donald dismembering Gladstone's corpse. Who HASN'T wanted to see that?

I like that sort of parody or homage work. And the more drastic-bizarre it is, the better it is. I hope that this material, or at least a selection of it, will be presented in the Don Rosa Collection.

Thanks for sharing your con experience. Good to see Don still out and about on the circuit. I hope to see him again someday and get some more of his wonderful prints.
