I just reread this story in Boom's Donald Duck Treasury Vol. 2, and unless my memory's playing tricks on me, I believe there was an alteration in the dialog. I first read this story back in the nineties, when it was published by Disney Comics (unfortunately, I don't have the original issue at hand for quick reference), and I seem to recall the first panel on page 4 differently. I remember the off-screen boss saying something like, "Don't take that tone with me," to which the secretary responds, "I didn't! I only closed the window". In the Boom version, the characters say, " Did I just hear you close the window", and, "Yes, it was getting too drafty". The new version is much more banal, but to be honest, I didn't quite get the joke in the original version either. Does anyone know why this change was made? I assume there's a PC-ish reason, but it's beyond me.

The Disney Co. TPB "Donald and Scrooge" Rosa collection includes "Incident," and the dialogue there is the same as the Boom version. I don't have the original issue, either.

The story behind the alteration seems to be told on the old DCML??in order, here, here, here, here, and finally here.
In essence??during original production of the story, an Egmont editor altered a couple of lines in Don's submitted script, and Disney Comics published this edited version in UNCLE SCROOGE 268. Later, when reprinting the story in their DONALD AND SCROOGE TPB, Disney (presumably, editor Bob Foster) mostly "un-altered" these lines to bring them closer to Don's original intent.
One difference remains, though. In both Don's original script and the Egmont version, the secretary character is named Gitte. In all the American editions, her name is Gretta.

Interesting how stories get changed. Is this the only change is this story?
I only have Uncle Scrooge #268 with the edited version.
BTW: Boom's Donald Duck Treasury Vol. 2 is not in INDUCKS. There seems to be an indexing backlog with many TPB by Boom.

I submitted already Darkwind Duck TPB #3 and Uncle Scrooge DuckTales TPB #2 but they have still not been added to INDUCKS.
The 2nd Floyd Gottfredson Mickey Mouse issue is also missing: http://coa.inducks.org/publication.php?c=us/FGL
But perhaps someone started the indexing already.

I have Uncle Scrooge #268 myself. I did not know that there were changes in the scripts in later reprints.

I did volume one. I wanted to do WDC, but I was on vacation, and somebody else did it. Then I wanted to FC, but I had to wait until they indexed the series, and then I had a very busy week, and and then somebody else did it again. I don't have volume 2 yet, unfortunately. Perhaps for the holidays?
