Some of you may remember or have heard of "The Uncensored Mouse", it only lasted two issues in 1989 and was quickly shut down by the Walt Disney Company.
The cover "art" was tricky enough to let 'em slide by for two issues...

Jim's book "The Vault of Walt" is also a great read if you are into all aspects of Walt Disney & the Studio, films and theme park history.
It's well researched with tons of new information and stories, easily one of my favorites:

I got both issues on Ebay a few years ago. It's a shame that the series wasn't allowed to continue because the people involved really did a great job.

Y'know: I actually passed this by on a spinner rack in 1989, and was totally unaware of it's actual contents. Anything with a solid black cover, the word "UNCENSORED" and poly-bagged was enough for me to think it featured scantily-clad female mice, in some horribly drawn "Tom & Jerry" style brothel situation.
I remember my Grandparents were with me, and would have made the purchase along with the Gladstone comics I was picking up... I couldn't bear the idea of those wonderful people unkowingly buying lascivious cartoon porn for their grandson.

I remember seeing this in a shop around 1990 or so. When I saw the cover, I didn't look at it because it struck me as being either some X-rated thing or Bakshi style project, something along those lines. Only a few months later when the clerk happened to be talking about it did I learn that it was the original Mickey Mouse comic strips.
