Every once in a while you encounter an error that makes you laugh, and this did cause me and my friends (most of whom are with Disney) to crack up.
In issue #1840 of Topolino Magazine, there is a story where Indiana Goof, Mickey and Pluto go to Disneyland to rescue Clarabelle Cow from Kranz. On page 16 in panel 4, Indy says that Disneyland is located in *ahem!* "Burbank, Los Angeles".
Disney pals all cracked up, as not only is Disneyland not in Burbank (that's where the main studio is), but Burbank is in the San Fernando Valley and not actually regarded as being any part of the Los Angeles areas.
As one friend put, "Wow, I don't care what branch of Disney you work for, that error's a real doozy! Everyone in every area of Disney worldwide knows those basics; that's like a cast member saying that Tokyo Disneyland is located in Okinawa." ;)
Of course, it's certainly not the first time such errors have slipped into official Disney publications. After all, in the horrid Magic Kingdom book series, which were written by an author who clearly doesn't know his Disney, there are tons of them -- such as saying Malificent speaks in her "harsh, raspy voice" when she's the the witch with the most normal speaking voice (except when she laughs). ;)

So where is Tokyo Disneyland located? And can you tell me without looking it up first? ;)

By the way: do you and/or your Disney friends work at Disney TV animation? Someone on Wikipedia has been claiming that Disney is starting up a new American Dragon: Jake Long show.

It's on a manmade area of Urayasu, and thankfully it weathered the recent tsumani well! By the way, you may be interested to know that Tokyo Disneyland Resort is actually not owned by Disney; rather, it belongs to the Oriental Land Company (which is the reason why Disney workers can let themselves in for complimentary admission but not others).

To answer your second question, I'd better respond to that in a private message just to be safe, which I'll send along in just a moment. ;)

UPDATE TO THE ABOVE:

I was going to send you a private message in reply, but I can't seem to locate that option for your account. Do you currently have private messaging disabled? (If so, I wouldn't blame you , lol)

YOU LOOKED THAT UP!!! :D

OK, next question: What's unusual about the Disney character Duffy? (Apart from the fact I haven't crammed him into a story... yet.)

EDIT: Private messaging should be allowed now... I hope.

No, I did not look that up. And I will be sending a private message in a moment.

I guess that you have never been to Los Angeles, right? Burbank IS in The San Fernando Valley, but it is surrounded on three sides (north, west and south) by The City of Los Angeles. It is only bounded on one side (east) by another city......-Glendale. The San Fernando Valley is MOSTLY WITHIN The City of Los Angeles, other than the small suburb of Burbank, and another small suburb of The City of San Fernando. On the other hand, Disneyland is fairly far from central Los Angeles (more than 40 miles away), and is often NOT considered part of The local Los Angeles Area (only in The Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area).

So, the distance from Disneyland to central Los Angeles (error) would be roughly the same distance from central Tokyo to Yokohama. It IS a surprising error that a Disney fan would think that Disneyland is in Burbank. But an understandable one. Burbank, being where The Walt Disney Studios are situated, has been highly publicised for many years. Perhaps, Disneyland's location in Anaheim, and in Orange County has been a little less in print and discussed on film. However, I'd bet that most Disney fans around The World know that Disneyland is in Orange County.

I've lived here in LA most of my life and currently work both in Burbank and Orange County (unfortunately, I'm not allowed to disclose where on a public forum). The friends I was referring to happen to be and work in Burbank itself.
